Valen It was a stupid question to ask. I knew exactly what Blaze had done. At least, I knew enough to assume what had happened. Usually when Blaze took over, it was like I was in a pit, unable to see or feel, but surrounded by tiny screams I couldn’t quite make out just on the edge of my consciousness. It was like drowning in a sea of nightmares. It was like how I’d slept during the war, battle always looming like a heavy stormcloud that just wouldn’t quite rain until you least expected it. This time, though, I’d been wrapped in a still warmth, like floating in a womb. It was like I’d been closer to the surface, able to feel her soft skin under Blaze’s touch and the electric jolts experienced as he pressed into her.
