"I didn't have any friends in my class but I thought I didn't have enemies either. But I was wrong, ever since I realized Noorah's behavior towards me." It was 5 O'clock in the morning and Noori was on her bed inside the blanket. The little light chirping of the birds were entering the room. But Noori's heart was lost somewhere else. "There's a lot of things you learn from life. It teaches you to laugh, to cry, to win and to loose. For instance, look at this cheerful and fiery little sparrows on the window pane. He needs no reason to laugh and no pain to cry. A small source of food can make him happy. And why not? Aren't birds supposed to be like that? But even these birds looses their family and friends with the growing age. Likewise, even we don't realize how the way we talk, look or behave undergoes a transformation. Isn't it? I have a heavy responsibility now. The first exam of my life starts from today. I should focus on making my future than on Noorah's behavior." Noori says to herself and gets up from the bed. She makes her way towards the washroom. Subsequently, comes out and moves towards her study table. The chirping of sparrows again makes Noori's mind mesmerized towards it. As Noori looks at a sparrow, she notices a different light entering the nest from one of the branches above it. Low branches hung overhead was allowing only faint shimmering green light to penetrante to the floor of her room. Noori moved towards the window and pushed the sash. Ensuing, the babbler sound enlarged immensely as soon as she opens up the window. Next she leans towards the trees outside the window. She could only hear birds, and hardly hear anything more. The brightness then started to glow extreme. The bright colors in the light was making her eyes uncomfortable. On an offshoot near the limb, there was an unfamiliar leaf like structure glowing constantly. It was something like a magical leaf which was blue in color. She gazed at it curiously for sometime. "It wasn't a normal leaf" Noori whispered to herself "If it's not a leaf, what is it?" She could feel the light surrounding her. The light was expanding inch by inch every moment. The light was falling down like the most outrageous large confetti. Soon she gave that unusual thing an experimental prod, the light turned into a vivid. With the touch of Noori's fingertips, it started whirling around. The peaceful winter morning then changed into a windy winter morning. Creaking of branches due to extreme wind and the swishing of leaves made Noori fret.Terrified Noori straightened her posture back and ran towards her bed. She concealed herself into the blanket in such a way that no part of her body could be seen. Few moment later, she peeps her head out and stares at the window. She observes the whirling blue leaf descending and alighting on the floor entering the window. As soon as the leaf descended, the vivid essence dwindled gradually in size and finally disappeared. The leaf fell as if there was someone who had slow motioned everything around. Weather outside slowed down to a silent atmosphere and in no time it turned back into a peaceful winter morning. Noori moves towards the unusual object and holds it on her palm. She spots a peculiar golden thread like structure weaved beautifully upon it. The leaf fell as if God had slow-motioned everything around. It was a perfectly magical moment for her. She looks at the golden thread like structure and notices the small beams of light on it. She could see brightly glowing dust and pollen swirled suspended as if in some thick liquid. she flipped the leaf back and she saw a very unfamiliar lake where butterflies were dancing accross the water drunkenly as the dragon flies darted to and fro chasing the honeybees. The water trickled between the rocks as quick a bunch of golden fish kicked their tails upstream. The waves carried a beautifully crafted card with it and was hitting the banks. "To you, Noori" Noori reads... The card belonged to Noori. The card was captioned "Noori, I am waiting for you" Stupefied Noori becomes unable to think anything. She was totally numb. "What kind of lake was that?... those butterflies, and the card? Is anyone waiting for me?" Noori says to herself. "Who was waiting for me? And why was he? How does he even know me? And most importantly, where is this place located?" Noori talks to herself. Noori couldn't understand what was happening with her. Was it all a dream or was it a reality. Noori was stunned and extremely frightened. She had no idea what to do next. She held the leaf and stood still for minutes. Noori takes the magical leaf and moves towards her cupboard. She grasps the cupboard knob, twists it and pulls towards her. Soon the cupboard opens up, Noori hurls the leaf inside it and locks the door tight. Noori then took a deep breath. She could feel her beartbeat growing faster. She turned back and leaned backwards to the cupboard and sat down facing her knee upwards. She folds her hand and places them above the knee and bows down her head for a while.
