The amount of pain I woke up with the next day was astounding. I couldn't even move. Every muscle, bone, and nerve in my body refused to do anything without screaming at me to just stay still. Jax was so worried when he first woke up and I started crying because I couldn't move that he immediately got on the phone with Alice to see what he could do to relieve it. She'd told him that the painkillers that she'd given us for my shoulder would only work so much, and that a warm bath would help some more. She even suggested having him just heal me completely with his blood, but I promptly refused when my stomach churned at the thought of it.
I knew I'd have to do it eventually when he was going to turn me into a vampire, but I couldn't force myself to do it just yet.
