Chapter 20

912 Words
So it was settled, Bella was comfortable enough to allow Charlie to join us for family baseball Friday. It was a big deal to me that Bella be able to keep in touch with her human life friends and family as much as possible, to an extent, as long as the family secret was kept in the loop. Charlie, who was outside the loop until recent, could now be told everything when it came to our world. Since Charlie was married to Sue who was in the circle involving the Quileutte tribe and their secrets -when it came to the wold of werewolves and vampires - he was now allowed to be filled in on exactly that. He was an insider now. "Mom can I try my outfit on pretty please?" Renesmee asked excitedly. Bella nodded her head. "Just be careful you don't ruin it before the game." She smirked before turning her attention to me. "So I was thinking when we move-" Halfway through Bella's sentence Renesmee began undressing. This was inappropriate behavior for a young lady her age. I turned around quickly, my back facing her. "Renesmee what are you doing?" I asked her. My back still to her. "Mommy said I could try on my outfit. You heard her." She said innocently. "Renesmee you are too old to be undressing in front of family. You need to excuse yourself or ask us to leave before you do that." I said a little to harshly. Then I heard her began to sob. At this moment I didn't care too much that she had began to remove her clothing. Turning back around I pulled the top blanket from the bed and wrapped it around her body to cover her. Gently I moved her to sit on the bed and then sat beside her. Bella was on her right. "You don't have to cry Renesmee I was just a little shocked thats all. I know you are just getting used to your adult life but there are things you need to know right away. Not undressing in front of family is one of them." Renesmee wiped her eyes. "But it was okay before." tears coated her voice thickly. "Renesmee honey," Bella began as she wrapped her arm around her shoulder. "Before you looked like a child and were still learning so it was okay. Now you look like mommy does. You have woman parts and so you can't show it to just anyone. The only exception at this point in time would be you dressing or undressing while I am in the room." "Why you?" Renesmee asked. "Because I am your mother and just like you, I am a woman. Your father is a man so its innapropriate." Bella explained. Renesmee nodded her head in acknowledgement. "Okay mommy." I rose to my feet. "I'll just be downstairs talking to Carlisle and Esme about the family story for Seattle." I excused myself to give them privacy. Taking the stairs three at a time I was downstairs in the main living area of the house in just seconds. Carlisle was in the study off the left of the stairs case looking at the computer screen from over Esme's shoulder. From their thoughts I grasped the knowledge that they were going over the blueprints for construction on the new house in Denali. The last had been destroyed in the second war with the Volturi. "Carlisle." I said as I entered the room. He looked up and excused himself from his wife before joining my side with a manilla envelope in his hands. "Your new documents." He said before handing them to me. Reaching inside the envelope I pulled out a small packet. On the first page was a summary of who we were as a family. The second page had a picture of me and my name before explaining all the miniscule details of who I am as an individual and what I did. I was Edward Masen Cullen and I was 24 years old. I was married and fresh out of medical school - having finished 12 years of requirements in 10 - I was apparently a genius having finished high school and started college by the time I was 14. I was taking a job as a general surgeon at Pacific Medical in Seattle. Bella was 22 and starting her 4 year at the University of Washington in Seattle. Biology Major. Together we had adopted a daughter from Russia, during our honey moon to Moscow. She was currently 16 and was named Yulia Renesmee Carlie Bronteski. When we arrived home to America we legally changed her name to Renesmee Carlie Cullen. Catching Renesmee's thoughts I looked up and over to the doorway where both Renesmee and Bella were standing. Closing the packet I slipped it back into the envelope and placed it on the desk, all the while keeping my eyes on my daughter and wife. "Nice." I grinned. "You both look wonderful." "They fit." Bella smirked. Of course there was no questioning it. Alice had everyones measurements on file so when it came to buying clothes or having them specially made -like the baseball outfits- they were perfect. "Not sure if mine will I gained about twenty pounds." I joked as I patted my flat stomach. "All that stress eating." Renesmee was the first to laugh. And of course everyone soon joined in. Her laughter was contagious there was no avoiding it.
