Chapter 47It felt like falling.
Darkness surrounded Carter. He couldn’t see his hands in front of him or the rest of his body. He wasn’t sure if he was blind, dreaming, unconscious, comatose, or worse.
He remembered the blast from the Scepter. This felt familiar — the same as when he was first in Mondo’s lab, as the Interceptor overloaded and created a blast that knocked him out.
The pulse from the Scepter caused him to see a burst of light. Immediately he felt as if he had been violently pulled into the ground or that it gave away beneath him. Then he was falling through blackness.
This was it. He was here again. But this time he felt more aware.
