Chapter Eleven

576 Words
Chapter Eleven After peace had been made with the hunters and the rogue wolf pack had been sent on its way, everything in Birkbridge went back to normal. Eliza was almost bored at the idea except that she still had some unfinished business to attend to. She had to talk to Andrew. She had to make sure that he understood that it was over between them. She needed closure and so did he. They weren’t meant to be together and she could see that now. Her suspicions were confirmed when she found herself in the arms of Hayden again and saw Andrew with a g*n. She saw a man she didn’t know in that instant and didn’t like that version of him. But Andrew felt a sense of duty to his family when the werewolves started killing and reunited with them when he felt the anger and ferocity of the situation landed him with a g*n in his hand pointed at a werewolf who had Eliza’s father in his grip. It was a difficult time for them both as they had come to stand on opposite sides of the conflict. Eliza, being related to Melissa and Naomi, had sparks of abilities that kept her firmly on the wolf side of the line, where Andrew had hunter blood that kept him firmly on the side of his hunter family. It would have never worked between them, both being from opposing forces. Eliza and Andrew had a long talk and in the end decided to split up. Over six years of her life were gone, but she realized that she had only been afraid she would end up alone and never find anyone. So she had clung to Andrew, changing a lot about herself in order to keep the relationship alive. She realized it wasn’t working when she had called Hayden to help her when Freddie attacked her. Satisfied that she now had closure, she made her way to meet Hayden, Theo, Naomi and Melissa for lunch. They all laughed together and shared everything they had all gone through these past few months. Eliza smiled as she listened to each of them. Hayden and Theo teased each other like brothers do. Naomi laughed at their banter and Melissa snuggled in close to Theo. They were both undeniably happy and ready to start their new and improved lives. Hayden was there for Eliza after she and Andrew ended their relationship, and he let her move into his cabin until things were settled between her and Andrew over who would get the apartment. It was pure bliss as Hayden felt like he’d found his soulmate and Eliza felt the same. More than anything, she could be herself around him and never doubted or wondered about his care for her. It took Eliza a few weeks to find a house she liked. When she moved out of the cabin, she took the thing she loved the most with her - Hayden. Naomi had been fully cured and left the mental hospital and moved in with Melissa. Between the two of them, they kept the truce and peace of the pack extremely well. Theo had also moved in with Melissa and her mother. Life in Birkbridge went back to normal, and Eliza was back to reporting on the livestock fair the following year. “This is Eliza Zachary, reporting from the soon-to-be Birkbridge livestock fair. As you can see, preparations are underway for the upcoming festivities...” -To be continued in Book 3-
