Bonny Jean Pov
It was almost sunset when the men of the lord came to take the wounded who could travel back to the castles village. I chose to stay with the three who would not be able to move tonight, Ainsley and I had a tent up for us, and I had dinner on the fire. I listened to Ainsley as she informed the guard that Myself and the ones under my care would have to be sent for possibly tomorrow if not the day after. I could tell the Man wasn't happy but he seemed to understand that theses folk needed to stay put until healed enough. Once almost everyone was loaded up and most of the extra supplies, Ainsley walked over to me and suddenly I felt my baby sister hug me tightly. Sighing I hugged her, "Go Ains. Ill be there soon enough. Oh and don't go falling in love with the lord." I tease her softly. I know this is the first times since our folks were slaughtered that she is going to be away from me. However, there is plenty of people to keep her busy till we can be back together. "Until I see you again,' she whispers... "you have all the medical needed for these three? and you have your dagger?" Smiling down at her, I nodded, "Stop worrying about me, you keep your dagger close... Until I see you again." I tell her as I walk her over to the main guard waiting to help her into her saddle. He Looks like the Lord with long brownish red hair, which is pulled back, he is slightly smaller and his nose isn't as broad nor have been broke so much. He has dark brown eyes, which have been studying mine after he put my sister in her saddle. "Miss, are you sure you don't need one of us to stay with you till we can send people back to move these folks?" He asks sincerely. "We will be fine, sir?" "Collin O'Curtis Miss...." Smiling I told him my name was Bonny Jean, and asked him to keep Ainsley safe. I saw him nod and promise he would, before mounting his own horse and leading the group back. Sighing I watched as they disappeared into the dark.
Later after feeding my three patients and getting all of them comfortable enough to sleep, I finally set down next to the fire. Off to my right I can hear what sounds like wolves running and yapping. Sighing I hope this is all that is on the steppes this night. Looking up at the sky I stare at the stars for who knows how long. As look down I realize the fire is basically out, and dawn is on the horizon. Getting up I redo the fire before making a morning tea. I walk into the tent and check on my patience. All three are still sleeping peacefully. I am thankful, due to the youngest is a female child maybe reaching 9 years old and she was badly wounded by an ax and fire. Her parents were both slaughtered, so I keep praying she is strong enough to fight through these next days. The other two here are men, one elderly and his wounds are from the fire and a deep gash that nearly punctured his lungs.... the other a man not much older than I am which I am 18yrs old... he has a head wound that still seeps blood. Changing his bandages are simple enough, though it worries me he hasn't woken up since he passed out after we first bandaged him. The girl is the first to wake a few hours later, I had already downed two fowl and had them in a stew. I heard her cry out, I poured up her some pain reducing tea and grabbed the paste i had ready for her wounds. She is quieter than I expected the child to be. I got her to tell me her name which is Breeda, she is a pretty little girl with orange red hair, a small round face and a slim small body, though her arms show that she has worked in the fields for a few years. Her wound the ax gave her was looking better now that its been sewed up and the paste on it. Her burns on her legs and feet were still questionable. I did my best to ease her pain and then by the time she closed her eyes to rest. I found the old man awake watching me quietly. I met his old light green eyes, his face is badly scarred, his left eye is almost completely closed from the scarring. His broad nose is crooked. As i walked towards him he smiled and i could see he had a couple of missing teeth. I smile at him and ask how he feels. He mumbles something but I can not understand. I present him his tea, and he smiles and says a shaky thank you. His wound was looking a bit infected so I worked on cleaning it. While i worked on the old mans wound the sound of horse hooves would be heard outside the tent. Hoping this is the Lords guard but preparing for the worst I continue to work on the old man. After I finished and he nodded as i walked out since no one had come in I walk out to find the Lord himself standing in the camp. He looks agitated, I see him spin and look at me as I step closer to him. He is a good foot and a half taller than I am, "Why did you refuse guards last night?" He asks me sternly. Rolling my eyes I answer bluntly. "The raid is over they move on to the next village they don't come back, or have you been so pampered you do not know this, My Lord?" I watched his face become colder before he answered. "You, are a brazen lass, but have no clue who I am." "You are right My lord, I do not know you and you do not know who I am. However I did not come out here to insult or be insulted, so sir, how may I assist you?"
