Vix paced deliberately forward, Caine following in her wake, coming closer to the shantytown. She passed beneath what appeared to be the gate: two huge, grime-encrusted oars crossed like tentpoles at the entrance. It seemed to Vix like a rather odd symbol for a place known as the Dry Works. 'Perhaps the people here have a strange sense of humor.' Caine shifted uneasily behind her. “Well, here we are," he said. Someone pounded along a ramp just above his head and he flinched at the noise. “But where are we supposed to go next in this madhouse?" Vix could see that he felt very out of place in the Dry Works.
