Ruby’s POV I woke to the smell of something warm again. The fire had burned low during the night, but the soft heat of morning light spilled through the small cabin window. I blinked blearily at the soft flickers of orange bouncing off the wood walls. Carter was already up. I heard him before I saw him,moving around the cabin as quietly as a man his size could manage.
