Chapter 3 ~ Isabelle ~

With my hand on the doorknob, I start to twist. Before I can even open the door fully, I hear Tabitha screeching from inside the house. As I listen to her rant, I hear her say a few things she probably didn't want me to overhear. "When I get my hands on that ungrateful little b***h, she's going to wish she was never born! Who does she think she is, starting a fight at school of all places!? She is nothing but a lowly filthy omega slut. She’s not even worth the wolf they claim her to be! I knew her parents didn't want her for a reason! All she does is cause trouble! We should have just returned her to the orphanage when she first started avying out! I'm going to beat her bloody, thinking she can get my girls into trouble! Ugh, where the hell is she!? Why is it taking her so long to get here!? Not only is she getting her ass beat for fighting, that ungrateful little twit thinks she has the right to graduate school early! Oh, I tell you when I get my hands on her!" What the hell! What is she talking about! Wolf!? Omega!? f**k, how does she know about me wanting to graduate early! What am I going to do? I have nowhere else to go and even if I do leave right now they'll have me dragged back here. f**k! The door is wrenched from my hands, taking the choice away from me. I’m grabbed by the arm and thrown onto the floor inside the house. Tabitha is glaring at me, fuming. ”Where the hell have you been! You little slut. Off whoring yourself out instead of coming straight home, I see. Well that’ll just add to your beating.” Tabitha screeches at me and kicks me in the stomach. I curl up trying to block as much as I can to minimize the damage, but as soon as I do she ramps up. Kicking and stomping anywhere she can reach. My forearms, chins, left side, and back are taking most of the beating. Whimpering lowly I try to curl more into myself. I let out an ear-piercing scream when I hear a crack and feel the break of a bone. ”Oh, you think that’s bad! I’m not even finished!” She yells grabbing me by my hair and pulling me into the living room. I'm distracted from the pain of my hair being pulled, I don’t realize I’m by the fireplace until I hear the crackle of the fire and feel the heat coming off in waves. Tabitha had tossed me like a rag doll. I try to back up from the flames when I’m suddenly whipped on the back feeling the bite of something cutting into my skin, freezing in my tracks I look back to see Drake. He’s holding a sliver claw tipped whip. He smiles evilly at me, seeing the terror in my eyes, getting ready to strike again. I can already fill the blood dripping down my back from the open cut. ”On your knees, you little w***e. I don’t want to hear a peep out of you or you’ll get more strikes.” Drake says cruelly to me. I whimper but obey his command. I bite my bottom lip to hold in my screams with every strike he gives me. ‘STRIKE’ ”You think you can disobey us!” He booms. ‘STRIKE’ ”Your nothing, you hear me nothing!” ‘STRIKE’ ”Nothing but an ungrateful little w***e!” ‘STRIKE’ ‘STRIKE’ ”An ugly little slut, who can’t even cook or clean right!” My tears are streaming down my face and I can taste blood in my mouth. With every blow he lands, it cuts deeper into my flesh. I start to feel the blood running in rivulets down my back. ‘STRIKE’ “Not even your own parents wanted you!” He continues to rant. ’STRIKE’ ’STRIKE’ ’STRIKE’ I sway side to side, getting dizzy and start to see black spots in my vision. I don’t know how much longer I can stay conscious. With each strike I’m losing the will to stay awake I can’t take this anymore! ’STRIKE’ ’STRIKE’ There’s a tingling sensation in my limbs, starting at my fingertips and toes. It goes up my arms and legs, reaching my center. I thought it’s was my body giving up on me, saying enough was enough. It keeps building though and I don’t understand what is happening. I try to breath through my nose to hold it back, but it’s no use. I can’t hold back the scream that escapes my lips. Hunching my back I feel my shirt swaying as the wind picks up. Drake and Tabitha are screaming and freaking out behind me. I feel the pressure release and hear a big boom, almost like a small bomb detonated, making my ears ring. Then, I hear glass shattering, wood splintering, a couple of thuds, and furniture scraping against the floor. Then, nothing, it’s deathly silent and everything goes black. *** I groan, slowly waking up to the feeling of water dripping on my cheek. I open my eyes, but the sun is shining to brightly. I close them quickly and put my hand above my eyes to shield them from the glaring of the sun. That’s funny I could have sworn I felt water dripping on me. I go to blink my eyes open slowly this time, letting them get use to the light, before sitting up and looking around. I put my other hand on my cheek, the one I felt the water dripping on, and wipe it off. Huh, that’s weird it was only on one side of my face, umm... I drop my hands and start to look around frantically. Where the hell am I!? This isn’t the house I was just in. I see trees all around me. I’m in a clearing with beautifully different colored wildflowers surrounding me. It also looks like it’s mid-morning, which is odd since it was the afternoon when I reached the house. I'm still trying to figure out how I ended up here, when I see the silhouette of a wolf. Weird! How much more trippy can this get. I’m not scared of the wolf, quite the opposite actually, I feel a pull towards it. I’m little hesitant since I don’t hear anything or see any other animals or people around. I get to my knees and slowly stand up, feeling a little weak. There’s no pain in my body or the sensation of blood running down my back. ”Come, child. Your body is healed and we only have a few moments.” I hear an angelic voice whisper, like it’s traveling on the wind. I look around and again see no one, besides the wolfs silhouette between the trees. It looks back like it’s waiting for me to follow. I look around one more time, before hesitantly following behind the wolf. After a few moments of walking I hear the trickle of water. Stepping through the last couple of trees where I seen the wolf turn towards the right, we come up on a little crystal clear pond, that looks like it’s twinkling in the sunlight, with a gorgeous waterfall coming off of a small hill surrounded in the same beautiful wildflowers as the clearing. It's like nothing I’ve ever seen before. I’m a little dazed by it, so much so I don’t notice the wolf trot over to someone sitting on a bench beside the pond and set by their feet. The wolf looks to be shrouded in shadows, I still can’t make out its features, which is odd. When I finally come to my senses and look over I see the most ethereal women, with long silver hair curled at the bottoms and shiny silver eyes resembling the moon, sitting on the bench. I can’t tell her height, but if I had to guess I would say she is around 5’8 at least. She smiles gently at me patting the bench, wanting me to sit with her. As I go to sit next to her I notice her skin is pale, almost transparent, but glowing and she is wearing a long flowing white, off the shoulder style, dress. I smile back at her and look down at my hands, twisting them. I notice I’m in a similar but shorter dress, same as hers. My dress stops just above my knees. ”My child, we don’t have long and I need you to listen to me carefully. You will see me again to answer all of your questions, but for now know I am the Moon Goddess. When you wake up, you will not have long. I need you to quickly pack your most essential items and run. You will need to head north towards the human city. The one you meet there will help guide you.” Before I can say a word to question what’s going on or ask why, darkness encompasses my vision and I feel like I’m falling through nothingness. ***
