"Isabelle, the principal needs to speak to you. Please have a seat, he'll be ready for you in a moment dear." Miss Murray tells me. "Do you know what it is about ma'am?" I ask her. "No sweetie, I do not. He'll be ready for you in a minute, though." I nod at her in understanding. After a few moments, I hear him call for me to come in. "Good morning, Ms. Evergreen. Do you know why I wanted to talk to you this morning?" Mr. Duncan asks. I shake my head at him. "Well, the guidance consular told me you wanted to see about graduating a half year early. Is that correct?" he eyes me over his reading glasses. "Yes, sir. I turn 18 in a week and had planned on leaving for community college right after. I have all A pluses in all my classes, except for gym. I have a B." "We'll have to talk to all your teachers and see where you are at. I'll let you know in a few days." "Thank you, I'd appreciate that. Do you need anything from me?" "No, but if I do I'll let you know. Stay out of trouble until I get back to you though," he says to me sternly. I nod my head and tell him I will. I hope it all goes right, but knowing my luck it won't. Heading out the door to class with my hall pass I almost run into the twins and Harper. Backtracking I go the long way to get to my first period. Before I know it lunch is almost here. The last few minutes of my calculus class are with the teacher giving us homework. Letting everyone leave before me when the bell rings, I walk out of the classroom ready to finally eat. My stomach has been growling all last period. Setting down to eat, I'm halfway done with my food when I feel something soaking my head. Of course, I know it's the triple bitches in waiting. I try to take a deep breath and let my anger go, but it only builds. I'm so tired of being treated like this and bullied non-stop. Listening to the whole cafeteria laughing their asses off only makes it worse. I jump when the food at the tables next to me starts to explode. It goes deadly silent, looking around I start to freak out trying to figure out what the hell is going on. "What the hell did you do? You're a freak!" Stacy and Silva start yelling at the top of their lungs. I'm wondering who they're talking about until I look back at them and see Harper staring at me as if I did it. I was not anywhere close to the tables or their food. Looking at the rest of the cafeteria, they are all giving me the same freaked-out look as Harper. "What are you talking about? I wasn’t anywhere near those tables to be able to touch their food!" I knew as soon as the words left my mouth I would regret them. "You're a freak! As soon as we get home Mom and Dad are hearing about this. I'm sure you'll even get suspended from school for trying to start a food fight!" Silva screeches at me. While Stacy pinches the inside of my arm and whispers in my ear, "Just wait till' we get home your ass is mine, thinking you can talk back." I flinch and they start cackling. I get up as quickly as I can and try to make for the door, but I trip and land face-first on the floor. Everyone starts laughing again. I look back to see the twins and Harper with smug looks on their faces while joining in on the laughing. The lunchroom doors slam open and in walks the principal. "Ms. Evergreen, Ms. Hemlock, Ms. Dresden and Ms. Dresden my office now!" he shouts at us. The girls huff and stomp their feet screeching about how they did nothing wrong, they were just walking past when I started throwing food. "I do not care, in my office immediately or you will get detention," he orders them. I stand up and start walking to the principal's office with my head down. Ignoring the triple bitches in waiting behind me until I get hit with a sharp object in the back. I turn around to figure out what they could possibly want now, I know I'm getting a beating as soon as I get home. I'm about to say something when I see the principal and a teacher walk out of the lunchroom. I turn back around quickly and make the rest of my way to the office without incident. I'm the last to go in and talk to the principal, the secretary found me another shirt in the lost and found. It's not much better, but at least I was allowed to go clean up and not have to see the sneers from the triple bitches in waiting or listen to their whining. The principal is squinting and giving me a disapproving look when I sit down in front of his desk. Shaking his head, I already know I'll be blamed for everything. "Now, Ms. Evergreen, when we talked this morning you promised me you'd stay out of trouble. I see you've broken that promise. Do you have anything to say for yourself, young lady?" "I...," he holds his hand up, not letting me finish. "Frankly, I don't want to hear your excuses. With what the teacher, the girls, and everyone in the cafeteria have pointed out, you were trying to start a food fight. Now, I do not tolerate fighting or violence in any capacity in my school. Your parents have been called and told you are being suspended tomorrow because of the incident. Also, you will be going home early today and detention for the rest of the week. I expect you to be more respectful to your classmates when you return and you do not try to start any more fights." With that, he waved me out of the office dismissing me. I asked the secretary about getting my homework from my teachers and my stuff out of my locker. With that being done, I walked out of the doors on my way home. I wanted to take my time getting home. I was not looking forward to what was to come. Hopefully, it will only be Tabitha at home since she didn't work. Usually, if they were both home Drake would do the worst of the beating. Tabitha doesn't like to get her hands that dirty, but will if she really wants to. I'm sure with me getting suspended it'll be a double beating tonight if not worse. I keep it together the best I can walking up the steps to the door, not wanting to open it.
