Dinner with the Future Luna

As we're all sitting at the table RC and RJ come strolling in. (We've decided not to let them in on the plan. They are only 15 years old and with what Alex and our grandfather is doing to us they would go nuts. Keeping it from them now is best. They will know about everything when the time calls for it.) They are always late to everything. They grab their seats. No one at the table is talking except of course for RC and RJ. They are the first to break this awkward silence.

"Whats for dinner?" RC asks

"Chicken breast with mash potatoes and gravy. A side of green beans with garlic and butter. And dinner rolls." Rob answers happily helping break the silence.

""Oh Yeah! I love mash potatoes!" RJ says

"You always have" mom reply's

The twins Misty and Susan come in with the food and everything smells so good! They lay the prepared plate out on the table. My mouth Starts watering. I must be more hungry then I thought. Each of us pass the food plates around until our plates are full. Everyone is quite and everything tastes so yummy. Then Alex had to go and ruin it it by talking.

"So I'm really excited for the announcement party to tell the pack and guests about Me and LeLand being your mates and me being the future Luna." The she devil was talking to me.

"Yeah I cant wait to show off our marks! Oh that's right you dont have one yet."

"No, but i will be getting mine the night we are announced."

Still shoveling food in my mouth not even looking at her

"How exciting..."

LeLand nudges me under the table so on one can see. I chuckle to myself. I cant believe shes acting like this isn't all a lie. She really gets under my skin. Rob looks at me and I stick my tongue at him and cross my eyes. I know he is stressed about this whole plan so I'm trying to make him feel a little more at ease. He returns the gesture to me by pushing his nose up and pulling under his eyes down. This made my brothers, LeLand and my father laugh.

"Robbie, we shouldn't act childish. We're the next in line for Alpha and Luna." Alex says to my brother.

"Please just call me Rob..." my brother starts to say to her but I cut him off. I have had it and I snap! I slammed my hands down on the table and stood up. Leaning as close to her as I can from my spot at the table.

"Listen here Alex, Future Alpha or not hes still my little brother."

"By 10 minutes" my brother adds trying to diffuse the situation a little.

"Hes my family and we can do what ever the hell we want. I dont know what kinda of pack that you came from. But here we still have fun. And if you cant understand that, then maybe just maybe your not fit to be a Luna!"

Leland stands up and places his hand on my shoulders.

"Sit down princess, lets finish eating and then well go for a run. How does that sound?"

"That sounds great Le"

"Just be careful please! if anything feels off i want you back here as soon as possible."

"We got it dad! We will be careful!"

Giving Alex the evil eye as I sit back down into my chair so I can finish my food.

"I'm sorry if I hurt..."

"Stop! dont apologize! I could honestly careless. Let it go!" I quickly say stopping her in mid sentence. I really cant even stand the sound of her voice.

I didn't have time to deal with her bullshit. Except for RC and RJ holding small conversations between the 2 of them the rest of us ate with out a noise. After my outburst she has just been pushing her food around on her plate.

"Everything okay Alex? You haven't eaten a bite!"

"Oh Mom, I'm okay im just not hungry anymore"

Mom? Did she just call my mom MOM!

"HER NAME IS LINDSEY OR LUNA NOT MOM! SHE WILL NEVER BE YOUR MOM!!" I jump up and start yelling at her. I know that I dont like this girl. Not even a little bit but I have no idea where this is all coming from. But if i had to take a good guess I would have to say Ruby. She doesn't like her either if not more then I do.

LeLand jumps up and grabs my hand. "Lets go for that run now princess."

"Sounds good to me" I say through clenched teeth.

We make our way out side by the pool.

"Princess is everything okay? I know there is a lot going on around here lately. You know you can talk to me right?"

"I know Le and I will talk, just not right now okay? I need this run first."

"No problem baby girl. Just know I'm always here for you no matter what."

"I know and that is why I love you."

"I love you to."

He interlocks our fingers together and we start to walk towards the lining of the trees.

"Le I don't think that we should go in to the woods to run. My Aunt and Uncle have a lot of property. We can just strip out of our clothes and run around here if that's okay? Since seeing those watchers those woods started creeping me out."

"No problem princess. We can run where ever you'd like. Maybe we can even run and jump into the pond! Roan loves water!"

"That sounds like such a good idea. Let me see if Ruby likes water to!"

"Ruby?"

"Yes dear"

"LeLand and I are going to shift so you and Roan can run, but Roan is going to want to swim in the pond. Will that be alright with you?"

"Yes dear I love to swim to!"

"GREAT!"

"Le she said that she loves to swim to!"

"YES! we are going to have so much fun!"

We race over to some random trees and strip out of our clothes. Roan is the first one to come out from behind the trees. He is huge for a Beta wolf. I am just a little bit bigger then him. He is Flint gray with a black patches. One of them is covering his right eye and the other patches are on his paws. except for his left paw which is white. He is absolutely stunning.

When I come out from behind the trees he is just there looking at me. I prance over to him and nuzzle him.

"Ruby we have to tell him that there is a possibility that we have a pup growing inside of us."

"I know dear but lets wait until we go swimming."

"Good plan."

We are both there in our element. Then I take off running, he was not expecting that, so I got a head start. I decided not to go my full speed yet, so he could catch up to me, which he did. We were running the whole perimeter of the property. After a minute or so I link him.

"LeLand want to race?"

"Hell yes!"

"Okay, first one to make it to the pod and jumps in wins. The winner gets a date night planned by the loser!"

"That's a deal! Sorry princess get ready to plan that date night"

And he took off. You could see that he was going his fastest. I must say he is truly fast. But I know I'm faster so I gave him a small head start. After about 10 seconds I took off. I know that I didn't need to go my top speed to catch him. It was so funny seeing his face as I ran up next to him. He was completely shocked. Once we ran like this for a minute or two, I told Ruby

"Okay Ruby no more playing. Beat these guys!"

And she took off, Ruby is so fast, I was trying to look out at everything but it was all a blur. We made it to the pond and Ruby launched her self in the air and dove into the water. It was so refreshing. Nice and cool and it was going to be just us in here which is the best. After a few minutes Roan get to the pond and mimics Ruby's moves. Now that were both in the water and are finished running, I need to tell LeLand what is going on.

"Ruby can you talk to Roan directly? and can you tell him what is going on with out him telling LeLand yet? i want to tell him when we are in human form."

"I can do that. The only way LeLand will find out is if Roan tells him and I will make sure that doesn't happen."

"Thank you"

Just like when i talk to LeLand through a link Ruby can hear me, I can hear her talking to roan, I just cant hear what he is saying.

"Roan? there is something that Ava-Marie wants me to make you aware of, but you cant tell LeLand because she wants to tell him after we change back."

"Tonight at dinner Ava-Marie realized that her period is due today, and she still hasn't gotten it yet."

"There is only one thing that that can mean Roan."

"We are not sure yet, but will find out soon!"

"Make sure you dont tell LeLand!"

"Good"

That didn't seem like it went badly.

"Everything went okay Ruby"

"It went perfectly dear"

"You are the best Ruby"

"I try"

Roan and Ruby play in the pond for about a hour our so. Ruby is just floating around when Roan pushes her under. Now they are really playing. They are trying to see who can get Who under water first. They are having so much fun. The sun set is disappearing into the night sky. I love being outside at night looking at the stars.

"Ruby can we shift back now? I'd really like to have that talk with LeLand."

"You got it dear"

And with that Ruby jerks her head at Roan letting him know that it is time to go.

"Can you tell Roan that i will see him again soon?"

"Yes ma'am.... He said he'll be waiting"

That made me blush a little thinking about what him and I were doing. They got out of the pond and pranced over to where we shifted. After LeLand and I are dress, I walk over to him and give him the biggest hug. He returns the need to be next to me by hugging me back.

"Everything okay princess?"

"Remember at dinner when I told you that I would talk to you later?"

"Yes princess I do."

"Good lets go sit in the grass over there."

"Okay..."

I can tell that he is a little worried about what I'm going to tell him. How will he react when I tell him this. I mean again its not a I know for sure situation but more like maybe its possible. I know we are both young but if it is positive that I am baring his pup I need to make sure that him and I are on the same page. We both find our spot in the grass and I as close as I can to LeLand. I immediately look up to the stars. I dont know if I need to pray to the Moon Goddess, or I just need to let it all out and then go from there.

"Just tell him dear! everything will be okay." Ruby tells me and it made me brave enough to just say it.

"Le? What do you think about pups?"

"Pups? Why would you ask me that?" he says chuckling

"Because I want to know how you feel about them."

"The thought of pups is great. I think that ill make a great dad! why do you ask?"

"Well because I should have gotten my period today"

"Alright...."

"And I didn't..."

"Gotcha..... "

"So that means if I don't get it by midnight I would have missed it."

"hmm mm...."

"Le if I miss it that means I could be pregnant."

There was silence for a few minutes and all Le did was stare at me... I dont know what he is thinking and its driving me crazy.

"Please say something Le"

"Pregnant, as in you carrying my pup?"

"Yes Le"

"Oh Moon Goddess! This is amazing! When will you know for sure?"

"If i miss it tonight then i will take a test in the morning. I have Ruby on the look out to see if she can sense any heartbeats that are not my own. As of right now there still is nothing."

"Princess you have no idea how happy I am at the thought of this."

"Are you really?"

"Yes Princess I am"

"That is such a huge relief to me"

"Why"

"I thought you were going to be mad or upset about this"

"I love you with all of me Princess, and if you are carrying my pup that means that is just what the Moon Goddess wanted."

"I love you to Le"

I lay my head on his lap so that I can continue to look out at the stars. LeLand grabs my hand and places both of our hands over my stomach. I'm so honored to have a mate like him.

"What are you thinking about Le?"

"The thought of having a little you or me run around. Its the best thought and feeling in the world."

"Awe Le you dont know how happy you make me."

"Princess I feel the same way. The happiness you bring me is nothing like I have ever had before. And I would never change that for anything in the world."

We continue to sit in silence. It was just what we needed. Just him and I, alone enjoying each others company.

But just like everything else all the goodness comes to a end.

"LeLand?? Are you out here?"

I can hear Alex calling for my mate. What the hell does she want with him!

"Hes over here with me Alex!"

I know that she hates the fact that him and I are together an I promised my self to make her life a living hell just like she is doing to me and my brother Rob. Little miss 'I'm going to be the future Luna' comes strolling over. I would love to be so mean to this girl. But I decide against it. I just revealed some really good news to my mate. I wont let anything ruin my happiness right now.

"Can I help you?" I ask her but it came out more like Go the f**k away!

"I need to talk to LeLand." she states .

"Hes right here. What ever you need to say to him you can say in front of me."

"LeLand?"

"Alex you are not my mate, Ava-Marie is, I will not go anywhere alone with you ever again. What ever you need to say- say it or leave."

"Well I see how this is then, Because I am the future Luna I want the 4 of us to match at the announcement party."

"Oh Hell no! Alex listen. You might think that you are going to have authority over me and my mate, but you wont. I am of Alpha blood just like Rob. I will not listen to any suggestions that you have about anything. I suggest you leave if you know what is good for you."

"Good for me? I'm going to be a Luna! You can not talk to me like this with out punishment! Guards!!!!!!"

"What the actual f**k"

Not 1 guard came to her side.....

"Sorry Alex but you are not Luna or even marked yet and they wont listen to you. We still have a very capable Luna inside. Actually there are 2 of them and neither of them are you!"

"I'll make sure your punished, you just wait and see."

I have truly had enough! I stand up and go face to face with Alex. I also let Ruby have this one

"Alex, Alex, Alex if I were you I would have shut up.

"Oh really?"

"Yes really if you want to keep your face looking the way it does now for the announcement."

"Is that a threat little slut?"

"Oh back to the name calling I see... no wench it is a promise!"

Alex lifted her had and smacked me right across my face, and then punched me in the stomach. I grabbed the back of her head and connected her face with my knee. This caused her to pass out falling to the ground.

"Princes the pup!"

I know LeLand was referring to the chance of me having a baby in my belly.

"We need to talk to you mom right now princess. If there is even a small chance you have a pup in there i want to make sure that it is alright. and that Alex gets what she deserves."

"Okay Le your right. I am sorry I dont know what Ruby was thinking."

"It's okay just no more stupid stunts like that again agree?"

"Agreed"

"Ruby?"

"Agreed LeLand"

"Thank you both"

As we are walking away you can hear Alex making some noises. I didn't even bother to look back towards her. I could honestly careless. When we got inside my mother and aunt were cleaning up the kitchen. LeLand is the first to speak out.

"Mom, Aunt Rose can I get some help."

"Oh my Goddess what is going on?" my mother cried

"Alex approached us out side. She wanted us all to match at the party and then other words were said. Then next thing I know Alex called her a slut and then Ava-Marie was slapped and punched...... Then Ava-Marie took Alex down."

"If Ava-Marie isn't the one who is hurt why did you bring her to us?"

"Well she was punched in the stomach"

"Yes?" my aunt says

"And Shes missed her period"

"Ramiro!!!!" My mother screamed through the pack house. My father came running at his wolf speed to get by her side.

"What is going on my Luna?"

"Alex attacked Ava-Marie"

"WHAT?!"

"And she might be carrying a pup"

My father let out what seemed like a battle cry. All the guards and my brothers, even Melissa and Shawn were standing all next to me as i sat on the couch waiting for someone to say something.

"Rob, I want you to go pick up Alex off the ground out side. I want you to put her in one of the rooms and tell her were going to get her looked at. Shawn Melissa and LeLand. Get Ava-Marie upstairs and in bed right now. I'm calling the Pack Doctor. We need to know if the statement is true and if there was any damage."

"Statement? what am I missing?" Melissa asked.

"I might be carrying LeLands pup, but Alex attacked me"

Melissa's eyes started to shift between her and her wolf. I know that she was struggling to stay in control. Because she is the true future Luna she has the need to protect me. I quickly grab her hand and ask her to walk with me upstairs. I needed to distract her so that she didn't go out to the field before Rob and destroy her. Not only was this bad ass wolf the true future Luna, she is my best friend. As we make our way upstairs, I can hear my Aunt on the phone.

"The doctor will be here shortly. Get her up stairs and lay her down. Make sure she is comfy! Oh and Ava-Marie? make sure you pee before you lay down. There is no getting back up until after the Doctor is done."

"Got it Aunt Rose, thanks"

As soon as we got into the room I did in fact have to go to the bathroom. When I was done LeLand picked me up and carried me over to our bed.

"You know I could have walked?"

"I know but I'd rather carry you."

"As you wish"

He sat me down on the edge of the bed where he took off my shoes and socks, and my pants. He left me in my shirt and panties. and then he let me lay back and covered me up. Shawn was standing on the left side of the bed, LeLand was sitting next to me on the right and Melissa was sitting in the chair at the window. Every one remained quiet, no one knew what to say. After about 30 minutes of no one talking there is a knock on the door

"Honey? Dr. Ashina is here."

"Thanks mom send her up"

When the Doctor walks in she is with my mom.

"Hi Dr. Ashina, is it okay if everyone here stays. Even my mom?"

"That is perfectly fine love. Were going to do a ultrasound to see if we can see a pup in there, and then we will go from there."

"Sounds good."

LeLand scooted up closer to my head to give Dr. Ashina room. My mother came and stood behind LeLand so that she can get in on the view of the portable monitor the doctor has brought with her. The doctor pulled the blanket back a little bit and lifted up my shirt exposing my stomach.

"This is going to be a little cold." Dr. Ashina said as she squirted some gel on to my belly. She was right it was very cold.

She turned the machine on and the screen was black except the space in the center that showed everything that is in my belly.. She keeps moving the little instrument in her hand back and fourth. I dont even want to look at the screen so I look up at my mom and I see that her eyes are glued to the screen.

"Hmm" The doctor said

"What? what is going on am I okay?"

"Yes love you are perfectly fine."

Then we heard it... thump thump thump thump, thump thump thump thump, thump thump thump thump

"What is that?' LeLand asked and you can clearly hear the worry in his voice."

"Well son that is your pups" Dr. Ashina said to Le

"My pups?"

"What do you mean pups doctor?" I asked because what she said makes it plural.

"Yes love pups, you have 2 healthy pups in there."

"2 as in twins?"

"Yes dear you are having twins! I'm going to tell you father" my mother said super excitedly running out of my room.

Melissa and Shawn where so happy they were clapping and crying. LeLand and I just looked at each other..

"Twins." I said to Le

"Yes princess Twins"
