Robin.
He told me his name before he went to his home. I can't shake my happiness the moment I called out his name when turned his back, he heard me and gave a small smile before he went out off my sight.
"My name is Robin," He mumbles quietly. "What's yours?"
I cast down my eyes not able to answer. Will he believe me that I don't remember my name? Or do I have a name? It's best to be truthful right? He's my first friend so I don't want to deceive him.
"I-I don't have a name..."
He stayed silent but eventually smiles at me. He put his arm on my shoulder to give me a side hug that I appreciate. "Don"'t worry! I'll think of a name for you when I get back! Let's meet here again later at night?" He looks at me with his eyes shining. I smiled at him and agreed.
I don't know what time it is but there's already a million stars shining above me. They're much more brighter now, just like how my smile widens whenever I think of Robin. Excitement swirls inside me as I dance along in my imagination. Dancing with the fireflies, lighting my every surrounding, lighting my path towards Robin, brightening Robin's smile.
I stayed like that for awhile, gazing into the sky and waiting for Robin. A frog hoops infront of me and jumps into the flowing river.
The river.
I remembered how Robin relaxes when he sees the river after he leaned on this tree. Does he have a happy memory into this place? My eyes widen when a thought pops into my mind, raising my hope further.
Is there a chance that I can get my answers by asking Robin?
He's the only person who can see me at the moment. He's the only person I knew that have that reaction when seeing this river. Maybe he have answers for me? Or am I thinking too much that doesn't even mean something to him? What if he sometimes drop by here to unwind? It's possible though I've been here for many days and nights. And I've never seen him once until this morning.
I was taken back into reality when I heard a fast approaching footsteps and I immediately stand to greet the person that I was waiting for. With a big smile on my face I leap towards him to greet him a bone-crushing hug.
He screams in surprise when I collided into him. "W-woah! W-when did you get here?" He asks with his hand on his chest looking like he might have an heart attack in any second.
I just give him a big smile, guiding him towards our spot earlier where we have a perfect view for the river and the starry sky. "I just have the feeling that you'll come early."
He smiles back at me and leans on the tree with a relaxed posture. "That's awesome. But it still surprised me to see you here early since I didn't really tell you what time to come... right?" He asks with the tone of uncertainty.
"Don't worry! The more time, the better! We'll talk about many things to our heart's content."
He nodded in agreement then his eyes widened making me worry. If he keeps doing that then his eyes will really pop out leaving his eye sockets empty.
"Oh yeah, I still haven't decided what to name you yet." He mumbles, glancing around trying to find something.
"It's okay, I'll wait. I'm sure you'll think of something that suits me." He glances at me then I gave him a smile. He glances then at the moon and then back at me.
"Moon..." He whispers, his hand slowly reaching to my hair. He looks at it thoughtfully. "Your hair looks beautiful, just like the midnight..." He then mumbles something that I didn't catch on. He looks back at me with his brows furrowed. "How about Monica?"
"Monica?"
It feels strange to say that name.
"Uh, yes... that's the only name I can think of. Do you like it?"
I do but it's strange.
When his face changes into worry I immediately nodded my head. Then he relaxes as he lets out a small relieved sigh. He glances at the river and so do I. The blue butterfly flies around and it looks familiar. Then a shooting star can be seen in the sky distracting me from my thoughts.
"Robin look! A shooting star!" I pointed at it but then it vanishes into the sky. Robin looks disappointed and looks at me.
This time his eyes widened again. He stands up and takes a back step.
"What's wrong with your hands, Monica?" He asks shakily. I look down at my hands feeling confused.
My hands are glowing then my fingers slowly disappears into thin air. My eyes swell in tears, fear gnawing into my heart. What's going on? This never happened before.
"R-robin... I'm scared..." I mumbled, my voice shaking. But it seems Robin didn't hear me because he keeps staring at me, staring pass me.
"Monica? Where... did you go?"
