"What's going on outside? Why would Mr. Vale care so much about that woman? Who is she, exactly?"
Several onlookers quietly glanced at Elara. Seeing that she remained silent, they began whispering among themselves.
"Mrs. Vale looks so calm. It doesn't seem like anything happened. Maybe we're overthinking it?"
"Exactly. If that woman really had any connection to Mr. Vale, Mrs. Vale wouldn't be reacting like this."
"Look! Mr. Vale is taking that woman away!"
With a gasp, everyone saw Adrian lift Vivian into his arms in full view of the crowd and rush toward the exit. Lucas, still crying, ran after them.
The three of them disappeared from sight just like that. The sudden turn of events left everyone confused. Adrian leaving with Vivian in front of everyone only fueled speculation.
"Could that woman actually have some powerful background?"
"Oh no… I just told security to throw her out. Mr. Vale won't hold it against me, will he?"
Everyone was eager to watch the drama unfold, curious whether Elara would lose her composure and storm out.
But Elara simply stood there, quietly watching the scene outside the window. After a long moment, she finally turned and walked slowly toward the center of the banquet hall.
"I apologize. My husband had an urgent matter and had to leave early. I hope you all won't mind."
One of the businessmen, sharp and perceptive, quickly responded with a polite smile. "Of course not. Mr. Vale is extremely busy and always so kind. That must be thanks to your guidance. If my wife were even half as refined as you, I would have achieved far more by now."
Others quickly followed, pretending nothing was amiss.
"Yes, yes. In situations like this, it's only right to prioritize saving a life. That girl was covered in blood. Mr. Vale couldn't possibly let something happen to her on his own grounds."
The room filled with light conversation, each person adding their voice. But as Elara remained silent, the atmosphere grew awkward. Without its host, the banquet soon came to an abrupt end.
Still, everyone left with one question in mind. Who was that girl?
After the banquet, one of the businessmen leaned back in his car, rubbing his temples. "Who was that woman?" he asked.
His wife loosened his tie, replying with mild irritation, "How would I know anything about Mr. Vale's affairs? But it looked like he values her quite a bit. If we run into her in the future, we should make sure to treat her well."
"You should be more careful next time. Weren't you the one who wanted to have her thrown out earlier?"
"Well, how was I supposed to know she had such a background? Honestly, I noticed her face the moment she arrived at the hotel entrance. She looks… very similar to Mrs. Vale. Could she be related to her?"
"Find out everything about her. If we can make a connection, it could be our way in with Mr. Vale."
Overnight, the name Vivian spread through every circle of power in Arclight City.
