Lyra slowly opened her eyes and blinked a few times. She was surprised to find herself lying on a soft bed made of moss and fallen leaves. It felt warm and comfortable beneath her. Looking around, she realized she was in a clearing, surrounded by tall trees that seemed to stretch endlessly into the sky. Their thick green leaves formed a beautiful canopy, filtering the sunlight that poured through the branches. The light created patches of gold on the forest floor, mixing with shadows in a magical way. The air was cool and fresh, filled with the smell of damp earth and pine trees. It was different from the smells she was used to indoors—it felt alive and refreshing. As she slowly sat up, Lyra felt a sense of confusion wash over her.
