TEKILA ROSE OREO

1718 Words
Rowan This woman will kill me one day, for the past two days that she has been working here has been terrible for me. The look in her eyes when she looks at me is like she is looking at a stranger. This is what I want, it is what I have been looking for in my PA but, why do I feel so angry all the time? Funny thing is that I want her to recognize me and remember that night we shared. I mean it should be special for her since it was her first time, but every time I remember Richard’s words, I just end up sighing. That is the only thing I have kept on doing ever since she started working here. I have to applaud her for her work. I wake up to find my schedule already sent to my email. She has rearranged my work, it became easier for me to attend meetings and sign some paper work. I could even get out of work by six in the evening like normal people do. Anyway, I have to watch her for a while. Women are excellent at pretending. Let’s just wait for a while. Time will tell. A knock brought me out of my raging thoughts,“ Come in.” I answered, and the person I had been thinking about entered. A straight face and a tablet in hand. “ Boss, your 11:00 am have just arrived, she is in the meeting hall. I have to warn you, it’s going to be a tough one," she said as she excused herself. I know this meeting is going to be a long one. This is my mother’s doing. She sends women my way for blind dates in the name of collaborations. I always refuse them, but this one is a tough one. She has been stalking me and getting involved with my business and business partners. What made me loath this woman more is that she has been going around telling everyone that we are engaged. I arranged this meeting for this purpose. Nobody can just use my name as they please. I walked to the meeting hall and entered feeling her piercing gaze on me. I just ignored her. She wasn’t worth it. “ Let’s begin.” I said as I sat down in the main chair, leaving everything to Tekila. She understood me perfectly and that is why I liked her. “ Miss Winston, this here is a restraining order and the distance is a hundred meters. This is a lawsuit for invading his privacy more than thrice and this one is another lawsuit for spreading false news and slandering him. You are required to attend the court hearing tomorrow without fail. If you don’t avail yourself, then your father’s company will declared bankruptcy by the end of tomorrow.” Tekila said with a straight face without letting the woman say anything in between, which I was really enjoying. Her facial features changed from red to green to pale, now I think she is just trying to make a rainbow. “ You think I am scared of all this. I have his mother’s support and I don’t care. I will wait and see what you can do. I promise you, Rowan, I will marry you either by hook or by crook.” She said as she walked out stomping her feet. I turned and looked at Tekila who was busy on her tablet. “ What do you think, Tekila?” I asked to gauge her reaction, or I just wanted to hear her thoughts on this. “ Boss, I will be honest with you. I am glad your mother is not my mother. I can’t help you with this though I know you will definitely make that man bankrupt, but how will you deal with your mother?” She asked, intrigued to know my decision. She looked like all that just happened was something normal to her. I am among the best hackers in the world and I can destroy anybody that crosses me. Nothing illegal like crossing the government because I work for them. I sighed and took out my phone to call my mother while Tekila excused herself. “ Hello sweetheart, did you meet the surprise I sent you? Isn’t she breathtaking? Her family background is also good, and her personality is great. I like her Rowan. Get to know her. I am growing old, and I want to see my grandchildren before I pass away.” My mother said, even without waiting for me to say anything. My anger flared, as my grip tightened around my phone, my knuckles turning white. “ Mother, this is the last time I will warn you, if you ever interfere in my love life again, you will end up in prison for the murder of dad’s first love. I promise you that you will regret ever giving birth to me.” I hung up the phone and went out to cool down. She has been a control freak and a gold digger. When I found out what type of person my mother was, I was only seven. I had heard rumors at school when my driver came to pick me up. Other moms would warn their children to stay away from me because of my mother. Since nobody thought that a seven-year-old could understand it, they never suspected anything and talked when they saw me. So I did a background check on her and the things I found made me wish she had never birthed me. I let out a sigh as I walked through my company, deciding to make a surprise visit to each department. “ I doubt she hasn’t tried to seduce the CEO, she is just pretending to be aloof and cold. Such a b***h won’t last being here. I would give her a week and she would be fired. Women like her are just loose to the bone.” I heard a woman’s voice say as I neared a corner. I stopped immediately because something told me to wait a bit. “ If I had known the CEO fancied such women, I could also have done it. After all, I am the head of finance. I have a lot of opportunities to meet with him. I now regret pretending to be weak and soft.” The same woman said as she scoffed, and the rest of the people following her agreed with her. Most of them sucked up to her as if she was already the lady boss. “ Yes, you are right. With such a name, how can her upbringing be any better than yours? Only a drunkard could name their child Tekila.” “ Yes, at the next board meeting make sure the CEO notices you. We will make sure she is late for the meeting. We can lock her in her office or the washrooms.” I kept on listening to their runts. I wanted to explode. These are the type of people that work for me? I pride myself on having the best employees, but I never knew I had been working with such people in my company. I turned around and went straight to the surveillance room. “ Hello, where is Thomas?” I asked as I entered the room. They all turned and pointed towards a corner. Thomas was busy typing away and didn’t even know where he was. He only came back to his senses when I tapped on his shoulder. I mean I had to eventually slap his shoulder. He jerked and looked back hurriedly, then let out a deep sigh. “It’s only you, thank God.” “ What do you mean?” I asked, confused. “ Not here, let's go to Tekila’s office please.” He said as he looked around us as if someone was watching him. Dread overcame me, something was not right, and my gut feeling told me it was something big. So I led Thomas out of the door and went back to my floor that I shared with Tekila and Micheal. When we arrived, he went ahead and pushed Tekila’s door with such familiarity and I didn’t like that at all. I pushed the thought at the back of my mind and looked towards him as he paced around almost wearing off the carpet. “ What is wrong and why did you suggest talking in here instead of my office?” I demanded and stood rooted after hearing his response. “ Your office is bugged. I mean you are a boss in the hacker world, and you haven’t even figured it out? You, my friend, are losing your touch.” He said, looking at me with a reproachful gaze. “ Tekila’s office is safe, she removed all the bugs immediately you hired her, she even found my chip. Her senses are truly amazing,” Thomas said. He is one of my hidden friends that helps me with the company, but nobody knows. “ Your mother bugged your office and almost every office in the company. Tekila is the one that found out that something was wrong, so she looked for the IT guy, me. At first, we thought it was just a precaution you put in the company, but after I investigated I found that your mother is behind it, and she has been buying shares from the old shareholders through unscrupulous means. Tekila has been working on it, and she was to update you after she found solid evidence if you didn’t believe her.” He said, and I felt all the hairs on my neck stand. If this woman doesn’t want to live any longer, then I shall play her game. I chuckled darkly and Thomas took a step back, scared of what I might do. “ So she has been playing with my little chess pieces, poor her, she doesn’t even know that she has been caught. Such a big fish, I must add some fat yummy food for it. She likes to play dirty, then I will show her just how dirty I can get.” I said with a sinister smile on my face until we were all brought out of our stupor by Tekila clearing her throat.
