Rogues at the Mall

491 Words
Damon Nick and I have been doing paperwork for at least 5 hours without a break. "I need a break," I say. "Me too. I need something to eat." Nick says. I laugh, "Yeah, I know." We head down to the kitchen where Mom is making cookies. "SWEET! Cookies!" We cheer and start to reach for them. "NO!" Mom yells. "Why?!" we both say, disappointed. "Because they are for your sister to take to school for the bake sale. Now, go get ready. You need to pick her up after you drop the cookies off at the school." "Fine," I say "Damon! Nick!" our Beta yells. "Kitchen!" we yell back. "Stop yelling in the palace," Mom scolds. Our Beta, Hunter, comes in panting. Clearly he's been skipping training. However, the look of panic on his face makes me think now is not the time to yell at him about it. Then, Nick asks the million-dollar question, "What's wrong?" 'Rogues at the mall!" Hunter all but yells. "Your sister Claery is there." My brother and I growl and run to the door, shifting to wolf mid-air and jumping down the castle steps. Hunter is not far behind with a group of warriors. We make it to the mall in no time. I smell the Rogues, but also something else that I don't recognize. By the look of it, Rogues are blocking all the exits. We shift back to human and Hunter throws us some pants. We make our plan and quickly go over it. Go in, get the princess (aka our sister) and Claery (the beta female, then get out. "Remember, we are on neutral territory. We cannot attack first." I say in my alpha voice. "Yes, Alphas," they all say. "Now let's go!" We run to the door and push it open. The Rogues turn and grow at us. My brother and I growl back. The sound of it shakes the mall. We hear screams and Hunter starts running in that direction with us right behind him. We sprint around two Rogues that block our way. I don't know why, but I feel the need to get there now. My wolf is as anxious as I am, if not more. When we get to where the scream came from, I freeze. "Mate!" I say at the same time as Nick. We see a girl with long dirty-blond, almost brown, hair and bright blue eyes that I could get lost in being held back by a Rogue. Then, a boy comes running through and she screams again. The boy shifts into a bright white wolf, like mine and my brother's. But he is smaller and has a star on his forehead instead the moon that my brother and I have. For a minute, it looks like he is going to hurt the girl who is our mate. I jump for him and miss while my brother does the same. "NO!" I yell.
