Elyria
A knock startles me awake.
Where am I?
I blink, trying to get adjusted to my surroundings as the knocking continues.
The Eclipse Pack, I’m under Alpha Bennett’s rule now. I drag myself out of bed, stumbling to the door.
I rub the sleep from my eyes as I open the door, and there is Mr. Price, leaning against the frame with a small smirk on his lips.
It takes everything within me to remain still and not startle. What is he doing here?
How long have I been out for?
How hard was I asleep?
With my enhanced hearing, I should’ve heard him and the others come to the pack house.
He brushes past me as he walks into my room like it belongs to him and says, “Well, Ms. Elyria, look at you. Moving up and forgetting about the rest of the girls.”
I haven’t forgotten about anyone else, but there’s no reason for me to say that. I know he’s trying to provoke a reaction, and I’m not going to give him the satisfaction of having one.
He sits at the ottoman at the end of the bed, crossing his ankle over his knee as he asks, “Beta Evans did tell you that if you can’t keep our dear Alpha’s attention, you will come back to me, right?”
I nod slowly, “Yes, he told me.”
He stands back up, coming closer to me. Too close. Close enough that I want to cringe away from him.
But, I don’t.
I force my body to remain eerily still, like I’m unaffected by his movements.
He leans in, his nose brushing my face as his lips graze my ear as he says, “Alpha Bennett never stays interested for long, Angel. Trust me. You’ll be back in my grasp in no time.”
His arm slides around my waist as his hand goes lower, until he has used his whole hand to grab one of my butt cheeks. He grips it so tightly it hurts, and I have to force myself not to jolt or whimper in response.
His voice has taken a growly tone to it as he says, “Once you’re back with me, we’ll get straight to your training. I can’t wait to feel your warm mouth and then your warm p***y squeezing my-”
My fists clench so tight they turn white. I swear Leo’s body tenses and seems to freeze, and then, “What do you think you’re doing, Leo?”
Beta Evan’s voice is hard and cold. I never felt afraid of him since he’s picked me, but now, I’m not sure if I should be more afraid of him or of Gamma Price.
Mr. Price releases me, his movements slow, and he only moves an inch away from me as he looks over his shoulder and states, “I just wanted to remind her who she truly belongs to, Conrad. We both know that this plan you have with her and the Alpha won’t last long.”
Beta Evans lets out a huff of annoyance, “Leave her alone, Leo. She doesn’t need you to get in her head.”
Gamma Price rolls his eyes, dramatically takes one step away from me with his hands raised, “There’s no harm in having a little fun, Conrad.”
Beta Evans doesn’t look away from Gamma Price as he slowly turns on his heel and walks out of the room.
The Beta’s eyes focus on me as he asks, “Did he harm you?”
I shake my head no, “No, sir, he did not.”
“He didn’t touch you in the wrong way or make you… perform any acts?” He forces the last words out of his mouth as if they are poison. But then his eyes meet mine, and I can see the fear and concern in them.
He cares about me. He wants me protected. I’m not sure why he cares as much as he does, but my heart warms with the knowledge.
I keep the emotion, the fear, out of my voice as I tell him, “Beta Evans, all he did was grab my butt.”
I don’t want him to know how numb that fact caused me to feel. He’s worried enough about me.
He nods his head as he processes my words, and he tosses a dress on my bed and says, “Lock the door when I leave. I will knock four times when I return, and we will head to the initiation. You will be ready by the time I return.”
I nod my head, “Yes, sir, I will.”
I lock the door behind him and head to the bathroom. My hair is in all directions because I fell asleep with it wet, now I need to detangle my curls and look as presentable as I can.
I’m trying to become the Alpha’s mate. I need to look put together, respectable, as a Luna should.
My mane is finally under control, and I braid some pieces back to look like a braided crown atop my head with the blonde white curls flowing behind me.
There’s no makeup for me to use, and there’s the light blue dress sitting on the bed where Beta Evans had thrown it. I take a breath and get dressed. Now, all I can do is wait.
