I stood up and walked to the end of my cage. "Why didn't you tell me your suspicions before now?" I asked. "Truthfully? I did not want to give you hope if I turned out to be wrong. I also had not finished translating the antidote so there was not time for me to sneak in to see you and talk to you about it. I just mixed it up and handed it off to Marie and told her to put it in your food otherwise if there had been time I would have spoken to you about it because I would not feed you medicine without your permission in normal circumstances" He said shyly. I walked a little closer then closed my eyes and opened them allowing my wolf to surface. She flashed her Violet purple eyes at him. Caleb got the biggest smile on his face. "Ohhhh how magnificant" he said, his eyes growing in excitement. "It is nice to finally meet you, Zarah," He said, his smile widening. “It’s a pleasure, Thank you for helping wake me up” we responded with our voices over laying each other. "I wish I could say the cure is permanant" he said with a frown. I continued to transcribe my mothers notes. The antidote will work for a week to make it permanant we need an ingrediant that I am not sure we will be able to get." Hearing his words I blinked again, Zarah pulling back but staying present to hear what he has to say. "What is it you need to keep her with me caleb" I asked getting fustrated that yet again my life is being messed with. "The true lycans blood" He said his face pale. I frowned "The true lycans blood?" I questioned. Cableb nodded, swallowing hard "Yeah and there is only one True blooded lycan now that is in exsistance" Caleb said his eyes wide. "Who is that caleb?" I said questioning " The Lycan King" My face went pale of all the people to need I need the kings blood.this seems like an impossible task but Z and I have no choice. I resigned myself "well then I need to get out of here and see a king" I said trying to make light of the situation. Caleb took a set of keys from his pocket. “It’s good she’s awake now because we are now out of time ” he said his voice and expressions changing to calm masked concern. He slipped a set of 4 keys into my hand. "Alan is shipping 80% of his forces out tonight. I am to leave and join the fight tonight." "The front lines are on the border between the eastern and western territories. Tonight is your chance scarlett. without his forces here this place will only have a few guards watching over it until the neighboring packs send their help. Tonight might be the only chance we have to get you out of here once the war begins you are no longer safe" He said calmly and quietly. The same key opens your chains, your cell and that door” he said softly. “remember this. Straight for three doors, up a flight of stairs. Immediate left, then immediate right, two guards, a wall then you're free. Time your runs in 30 second intervals and stay in the shadows do not let them see you Scarlett” he said half pleading with me. "straight three doors, a flight of steps, Immediate left, immediate right, two guards, a wall then freedom" I repeated back to him. Caleb reached his hand through the bar and cupped my cheek. "You have become like a sister to me, Apart from my family, Scarlett, please, please take care of yourself. I pray the next time I see you if ever again you are a free woman" he said wiping a tear that had slipped from my eye from my cheek. “Thank you” I whispered softly "I will not forget this! what you and Marie have done for me. And especially since you have become the family I never had" i said moving my hand over his leaning into his touch it was soft and comforting. We commotion outside it was yelling "Pack up boys we move out in an hour" Caleb looked at the door then at me. " I have to go now" he whispered "Stay safe sis" He mocked me with a smile moving his hand off my cheek. "You stay safe and alive," I said in my best maternal voice. He laughed before turning to leave. An hour z did you hear that? I asked her. I heard lets get our s**t to get out of here she said laughing excitement growing deep within us. I slid the keys into my pocket and walked to the mat. I took the chain off my ankle and laid it next to my mat so the guard that checked on me wouldn't notice I was not wearing it. Allowing Z to heal the old scars and feeling the power that had been still being drained from the chains now returning slowly. I sat down and ripped the bottom of my rag dress making a makeshift bag to carry my food items, cantine and knife in. The night guard walked by and saw my still form looking asleep on my mat covered up with the thin sheet blanket then left without even really looking at me. I gave it a few more minutes then stood up, tied the bag around my waist, grabbed my knife and the keys. "You ready Z?" I asked? "I have been ready lets get the hell out of here" she responded. I opened the cell door being careful not to make any sounds. Making my way to the entrance door I unlocked it and slowly opened it. I imagined rowes of inmates like myself instead it was a long, very dimly lit hallway. Half the lights were out giving me perfect cover. I darted to the shadows and moved along the wall. Z lit it up using her wolf eyes to help me see and navigate it. I went through three doors and came to the flight of stairs. Reaching the top I opened the door and peaked out. There was no one here either so I took the immediate left as Caleb told me too. then the immediate right. Then I saw them. Two guards standing by a door laughing and joking. That is our ticket out of this hell hole! I said internally to Z. Z laughed and extended our claws. "Well let's get the hell out of here already." I ran up behind the first guard, reaching around quickly. I slashed through his neck before using his body to force the second one against the wall digging my claws deep into his neck. I heard a gasp and a thump. I turned around quickly ready to attack. There was a third guard I did not see who snuck up on me and Marie was standing there shock in her eyes with the knife that was now not on my makeshift belt lodged deep into the guard's throat.
