Marco's POV
Tonight, I attended the invitation to the branch company's birthday party managed by my cousin. I was accompanied by Willie, just for formalities to please my grandfather. For the past 10 years, I have distanced myself from every big family event of Welray Moon Pack.
I was stunned when I met the beautiful woman who had caught my attention since earlier today. Arthur introduced us, and she extended her hand with a sweet smile. The dimples on her cheeks added to her charm.
"Amara Pattison!" the woman said.
"Marco Anderson!" I replied, shaking her hand firmly.
I don't know why, but my curiosity never fades. I could smell the scent of a wolf from her body. This woman looked so much like Amara Zelmira Ludovic Stray, whom I have been searching for years.
"Excuse me, sir. Who was that, Marco? I'm sorry, I need to go to the restroom for a moment!" Amara said, then left just like that.
She was so elegant and beautiful. Her appearance was so different, like night and day, from the Amara I've been searching for.
Truly capturing my attention, Arthur just smiled sarcastically. I'm not very close and familiar with this cousin of mine. I'm only doing all of this at the request of my grandfather.
"Why, Marco? Are you fascinated by my client earlier?" Arthur taunted me.
I just stayed silent, not wanting to create a scene. My hands remained safely in my pants pocket, tightly gripping to control my anger. I could even feel the turmoil in my wolf soul. Grayish fur began to appear on my arms.
Willie touched my arm and whispered, "Don't let your emotions get the best of you, sir. She just wants to embarrass you in front of the colleagues who are merely ordinary humans. Remember, your secret will be revealed!" Willie warned me.
I clenched my jaw, and not long after, my grandfather approached.
"Marco, my grandson, you are very lucky to be able to come tonight. I am delighted to meet you!" my grandfather said, pulling my arm to sit at a main table in the center of the room.
Arthur just smiled bitterly. We sat at the table, which had six seats. After five minutes, a beautiful woman named Amara came to our table.
"How are you, Mr. Albert?" Amara greeted, shaking hands with my grandfather.
My grandfather was so delighted to meet this beautiful woman. Whether it was a coincidence or they actually knew each other.
"I am well, Miss Amara. I am pleased to meet a beautiful young lady like you again. Please, have a seat!" my grandfather said, inviting Miss Amara to sit at our table.
Amara sat with her friend. I felt restless as I looked at Amara, who seemed so calm and as if she didn't recognize me at all, while Arthur seemed to be silently laughing at me.
"Damn, I'm being played by a kid!" I cursed in my heart.
"How is your business in this town, Miss Amara? From what I know, you and your late father lived in Liberia. And this is your first time staying in this small town?" my grandfather asked.
Amara focused on my grandfather and didn't even glance at me. I felt restless in her presence. My chest felt hot.
"Stay here and witness the woman who seems destined to be the moon that illuminates my night!" I murmured in my thoughts. My inner wolf also spoke about Amara. Is she really the Amara I've been searching for?
But as we were talking and I felt ignored, suddenly Arthur offered to accompany Amara home.
"Miss Amara, may I accompany you safely home?" the kid offered.
"Of course!" Amara replied.
Why was it so easy for Arthur to approach her while ignoring me?
After they both left, I saw Arthur's flirtatious behavior trying to put his arm around Amara's waist. However, Amara politely rejected him. "Does he think I'm a cheap woman?" I sneered in a slightly loud voice.
Arthur clenched his hand and followed Amara from behind.
Meanwhile, Willie and I got into my car after I bid farewell to my grandfather. I didn't talk much, my mind filled with thoughts of what Arthur would do to that beautiful woman. Arthur wasn't much different from me when it came to playing with women.
"Aaaggghhh... I'm really unlucky!" I shouted in the car.
After a few minutes...
The car had arrived at my mansion. I got out of the car feeling restless. As I was about to enter the mansion, "Sir, wait!" Neta, my breeder, called out.
Reluctantly, I turned around and forced myself to smile at her, asking, "What is it, Neta?"
This flirtatious woman grabbed my upper arm and caressed my chest as if teasing me. "I will accompany you tonight!" she offered.
"No need!" I declined.
I entered the mansion and ignored Neta who was still standing at the door. Tonight, my mind and heart were entirely consumed by the woman I had just met.
I could sense the frustration on my breeder's face, as this was not the first time I had rejected her advances because of Amara.
Once inside my private office, I sat in the chair and let out a heavy sigh.
"Willie..." I called out hoarsely and heavily.
After a few seconds of waiting, Willie hurriedly arrived, bowing slightly. "What is it, sir?" he asked.
"Find out about Miss Amara, the owner of Lilac Company. I'm sure she's the Amara I've been looking for," I ordered my breeder.
"Very well," he replied, promptly carrying out my command.
I could still remember her beautiful face, the face of Miss Amara that reminded me of something I had only experienced once with a woman.
Tonight, I laid my body on the bed in the master bedroom. I couldn't close my eyes, but my peace was disturbed when a message notification appeared on my phone. I quickly reached for the phone on the nightstand beside the bed, and I saw the screen that surprised me. "Damn it... Arthur, you bastard!" I muttered, holding back my anger as I looked at the contents of the message from my cousin, who had sent a photo of him getting close to Miss Amara Pattison.
Miss Amara's beautiful face was clearly visible, with her smile directed at Arthur. "Watch out, Arthur, you'll regret it!" I cursed to myself.
Due to the overwhelming anger, I threw my phone and quickly went out onto the balcony in my room. I could no longer contain the turmoil within me. I jumped and transformed into a large gray-brown wolf with fur.
I leaped from the balcony to the side of the house. Swiftly and stealthily, I ran across the roofs of the houses near the mansion. I didn't know where my wolf instincts would take me. All I could feel was the eagerness to meet Miss Amara. I caught the scent of Amara along the way. Although there were still many vehicles on the road tonight, I still passed by them and pushed my way through to the last place where I could smell and sense Amara's scent.
After a long journey, I caught Amara's scent so close. I could feel her presence so nearby that I could hear my own heartbeat. I transformed back into my human form while crouching down. Someone was standing behind me.
"What are you doing there, Mr. Marco?" she asked.
I stood up and turned around, but the distance between us was so close that I felt a strong vibration in the depths of my heart.
"I'm just seeking the night breeze!" I replied flatly, pretending not to know her, while turning my face to the side.
"Oh, I thought you were crouching because you were crying about something. Turns out I was mistaken!" she continued, then walked away towards a black car parked not far from where I stood.
"No!" I replied again.
I walked in the opposite direction of the girl, but as I was about to get into the car, a black figure passed by in an instant. I reflexively turned my head.
"Watch out..." I shouted, stretching out my hand.
There, in front of me, Miss Amara was pushed by a man wearing a black jacket with a hood. I quickly ran towards Amara, who was kneeling on the ground.
"Step aside!" I said, holding both of her shoulders and placing her near her car.
I faced the mysterious man, and inevitably, a fight broke out between us. I blocked every punch he threw at me, but with ease, I counterattacked and disabled him.
"Quick, go before you die at my hands!" I said with a threatening tone.
The man stumbled away like a frightened rat.
After the man left, I approached Miss Amara again.
"Are you alright?" I asked in a cold and indifferent tone.
"Yes, thank you!" she sai
d, then proceeded to clean the dirt off her knees and miniskirt.
I approached to help her clean the remaining dirt.
"Ouch..."
