Amara's POV
I was really unlucky, today at the airport I ran into a Beta Welray Moon Pack named Valentino, who was dragging a black suitcase into the airport.
I put on a mask and kept my sunglasses on.
"Ma'am, why do you look so strange?" Felix asked, as if this kid was interrogating me.
As my eyes caught the curious face of Valentino still standing far away, I gave a signal to Zion to take my four children away from me.
"Darlings, go with Uncle Zion for now! Mommy still has some urgent matters to take care of," I requested to my four twin children.
They all followed without asking too many questions. Since they were little, I had directed and taught them about emergency situations for adults and that it was impolite to ask too much.
My four twin children got into a black sports car. Chubby Alice was assisted by Zion to get into the back seat. After they left the airport parking lot, I quickly distanced myself from Valentino and could see his shadow from my sunglasses. This Beta changed his mind, turned around, and got back into a taxi.
"Wilson, let's just go to Hotel Mawar. Drive a little faster!" I ordered my other subordinate.
I then got into the car, this time Wilson himself became my personal driver. My four children headed to the Lilac family mansion in Australia.
While we were on the road, Wilson drove recklessly. "Wil, are you that bad that your driving is so messy?" I complained, holding my forehead which was sore from hitting the side of the car.
"I'm sorry, ma'am, I'm trying to deceive the car behind us that has been following us. I'm afraid that car is someone who's targeting you in this city," Wilson explained, glancing at the rearview mirror.
I looked back and true to Wilson's account, there was indeed a white taxi behind us, which was undoubtedly being ridden by Valentino in the airport parking lot a few minutes ago.
"Do whatever you think is best, just don't let that stranger intercept us!"
"Yes, ma'am!"
Feeling disturbed by this Beta, I, who was attacked by worry, immediately contacted Zion, whom I assigned to take care of my little angels.
"Hello, Zion. Are you and my four children already at the mansion?" I asked, making sure.
I was so worried that I held my phone with a slight tremor.
"Ma'am, don't worry, I will do my best for the young master and miss," Zion explained, reassuring me.
I felt a little relieved because the mansion's security was beyond doubt. It was a luxurious mansion owned by Father Lilac, and there were already dozens, even hundreds, of Father Lilac's subordinates there.
Wilson drove and sped up the car, racing on the road. I could see the taxi that had been following my car since earlier had disappeared from sight. "Ha... ha... ha... That stupid Beta must be frustrated for losing track!" I said with a loud laugh.
"Beta, what's a Beta, ma'am?" Wilson suddenly asked. My subordinate even stopped the car by the roadside.
I controlled my words and acted as if I didn't say that word. "What, Wilson, why did you stop here? Could it be..." I stared at Wilson, pretending to be shocked.
"Uh... No-no, ma'am, I didn't think of any lewd things. Just thinking about it scares me, let alone doing it!" this innocent man denied. Wilson sat back down and looked ahead. He immediately stepped on the gas and raced through the city streets.
I chuckled playfully, teasing him. Wilson's face reminded me of my former lover back in high school. I covered my mouth and averted my gaze.
"Wilson, let's hurry to Hotel Mawar. Because I don't want to meet anyone I know in this city," I said, glancing at my phone screen.
"I need to make sure my children are safe," I whispered.
"Ma'am, don't worry, they must be safe!" Wilson reassured.
I sighed deeply, biting my thumbnail and trying to calm my restless mind.
As I looked sideways through the car window, I saw something that filled me with nostalgia. "Wil, please stop at that small shop," I asked Wilson.
Wilson then parked the car near the traditional cake shop that reminded me of sweet memories from the past.
"Ma'am, I should accompany you!" Wilson offered, about to unbuckle his seatbelt.
"Stop, don't come with me. Just stay here!" I stopped him.
"Alright, ma'am, if you need any help, call me immediately," he said firmly, looking ahead again.
I just nodded silently, then got out of the car and walked into the simple shop. It seemed like the shop only sold traditional snacks.
"Excuse me, I want to buy those cakes!" I pointed to the shopkeeper.
The shopkeeper, with a thin smile, immediately attended to me and handed me the cakes I pointed at, neatly arranged in a glass cabinet. I looked at them with tears welling up in my eyes.
As I opened my mouth, about to take a bite of the black, oval-shaped cake, I heard my phone ringing in my bag. I put the cake back and quickly took out my phone.
"Hello, mom. Have you arrived at the hotel?" my eldest son asked on the other end of the line.
"Not yet, dear. I'm still on the side of the road."
"What are you doing by the roadside?" chimed in my youngest twin.
"I'm buying traditional cakes. I happened to see a shop selling old-fashioned cakes earlier. So I wanted to reminisce about the past when I was with your grandmother!" I explained in as much detail as possible.
"Don't take too long, Mom. Please hurry to the hotel! Felix is far from you, so he can't protect you."
"Yes, yes, my nagging boyfriend, love you, my adorable children!" I kissed the phone as if giving kisses to my four twin children.
"Be careful, Mommy dearest, love you..." all four of my children responded simultaneously.
I turned off my phone and put it back in my bag after tasting the cakes. I hurriedly left the shop and walked quickly towards the black car parked near the shop.
Suddenly, I heard a car stop right in front of me. The white Jeep immediately opened its side door in front of me, and several intimidating tall and muscular individuals came out.
"Come on, hurry!" one of them said.
"Who are you?" I asked, glaring sharply.
"No need for a lot of talking!" they said, grabbing both of my hands.
"Let go, release me! Wilson..." I shouted, looking towards my car not far from there.
Wilson came out of the car, running towards me. I was gagged and forcibly taken into the car. A few seconds later, I completely lost consciousness. Maybe it was because of the effects of the sedative they had placed on that handkerchief.
A little while later...
I blinked my eyes as someone splashed water on my face.
"Hey... Wake up, damn omega!" someone said, whose face I still couldn't recognize.
I blinked my eyes a few times, trying to see who was standing in front of me. My vision was obstructed by the water droplets soaking my face and hair.
When I clearly saw the mocking smile from this cruel person in front of me, "Ah, truly disgusting. Why is this world so narrow!" I muttered, turning my face away.
