Two weeks prior to finding my mate
I pull up to Annie’s on my Kawasaki Ninja and before I pull off my helmet I hear the front door slam. I continue taking off my helmet and see her red hair flowing back and forth. Watching her hair was like watching a flame flow with a wild wind. She jumps into my arms the breeze throwing her hair in my face I breathed her in the sweet smell of peaches and honey enveloped my nose. “I thought you’d never show up" she says smiling. I look into her eyes I couldn’t help but stare at her one green and one blue eyes.
She notices me staring and starts to pull her wavy hair in her face. I pull her hands down and brush her hair out of her face I let a little giggle out “ I need you to understand that I love you… do you understand what that means.” She shakes her head in agreement “I do but…” I put my finger over her mouth and hand on the back of her neck pulling her closer to me and I growl in her ear “I don’t think you do” I release my finger from her mouth and look at her eyes “It means I love all of you no matter what there’s nothing in this world that can stop me from loving you… not even you mi pequeña chispa.”
I can hear my wolf growling in the back of my mind “Why do you waste your time with this human… she may be pretty but she not our mate. Do you think she’d still look at you the way she does if she saw the real you…” I push his voice to the back of my mind and faintly hear him say “you know I’m right!” As much as I hate to admit it he’s right Alphas' orders prevent any of us telling her about our kind I could never understand why she couldn’t know or how she hadn’t noticed anything strange about this town.
I shake my head of these thoughts and get back to Annie who had a few tears streaming down her face. I wipe off her tears “are you ready to go hiking" “Yes! Just let me grab my bag and helmet.” She runs back into the house and while I wait I can feel an unnerving sense Jackson’s is on edge growling and then out of nowhere he stops and bows showing his neck. I turn around and realize to do the same thing it’s Alpha Ash. “Calm down my boy no need to arise suspicion.” He says joyfully with a forced smile and pats me on the shoulder and forcefully grabs my arm. “now my dear…Blake you weren’t trying to get any ideas on telling her about us were you.” I nervously shake my head no “good because she’s part of a bigger plan than you or I can ever hope to be apart of.” “Alpha can I ask why we can’t..” before I can utter another syllable Annie runs out of the house “Dad! I’m so glad you’re here now I don’t have to text you…..” she wraps her arms around the Alpha while he glanced at me. I hear him in my mind “Those damn vampires have tried to break through our borders again, so keep her safe and stay alert I don’t want her to see any of that mess.” I bow to him discreetly behind Annie while she’s in the Alphas' arms. “Now you kids have fun be safe.” He kisses Annie’s forehead and starts to walk towards the house, he stops in his tracks And quickly spins around “O YES! don’t forget to have her home before 10.”
He finishes walking into the house before Annie can retaliate. She scoffs “I can’t believe him, he still treats me like a baby.” She let’s out a small giggle “well at least he isn’t as hovering as mom, she developed some magical disease when I said I was wanting to go out of state for college.” She starts to stare at the ground, I sincerely smile at her “well if you had gone I wouldn’t have got the chance to be with you.” She smiles back and slams her helmet over her wavy hair her helmet muffled most of her speech but what I could make out was “let’s ride!” So we get on my bike she holds on tightly and we drive off to the waterfalls in the mountains for a very special date.
I can feel her grip tighten around the sharp curves. so I slow down and comfort her "Are you ok?" She nods her head yes so we drive and 30 minutes later and a few more tight grips around my waist we make it to the trailhead of the trail we walk fo 20 minutes and come to two trail paths the right one obviously traveled the most and the left barely visible but the only way to get to the waterfalls on two legs. We start to walk through the brush I'm quite surprised that she's able to keep up so well, being an inside girl and all. After 30 minutes a few slips and falls we make it to the falls. Not many people come here so it's quiet. I catch Annie staring at me, her eyes meet mine and she turns away and blushes brushing her hair behind her ears. She clears her throat "these falls are beautiful aren't they." I take a deep breath of the fresh mist coming off the falls "yes they are...". She smiles with a mischievous look "Do you know why people don't like to come up to these falls?" "Cause there to busy making videos of themselves to enjoy any of their natural surroundings" I say sarcastically laughing. She rolls her eyes "No its because the falls are haunted." I begin to laugh at the thought of ghost Annie raises her eyebrow at me "Sorry.... continue please."
