-ARIA- I wish I could say the gossip died on Dan’s chapped lips. But of course it didn’t. It drifted through the office like pollen on spring air—fast, smug, and far too pleased with the havoc it caused. Knowing eyes flicked my way, whispers half‑hid behind coffee cups, and those little side smirks people think are subtle. I knew it would burn out eventually, but still... The final drop came Friday morning, when I arrived earlier than usual. I headed to the coffee shop downstairs for my cappuccino, only to hear Marie's voice a few people ahead of me in line. A girl from marketing (Anna? Ivana? Brianna?) with a nasal voice was talking to her. "Do you think they're having an affair? I mean, Logan doesn't sleep with a woman twice," the blah-blah-blah-anna girl asked. "I don't think so,"
