"You came," Aria droned, her blue eyes finally finding me. A small inhale shuddered through her.
She doesn’t get it. There wasn’t a force in the universe that could’ve kept me from reaching her. The thought of Aria choking for air again, spiraling the same way I’d seen before, while I stood on the other side doing nothing, was enough to make my chest ache.
"Where else would I be?" My palms smoothed the sleeves of her dress, careful not to startle her.
She swallowed hard, her head tipping back. "I..."
