Wren's POV
Suddenly, I felt a lot of the weight on my chest lifted, and the feeling of suffocation that had been bothering me disappeared."Feeling better?" he asked."Much better, thank you.""No need to thank me, I just analyzed the situation for you."I nodded again and ordered a new drink, sipping it slowly."Still feeling sad?" he asked again."Yeah.""You can try visiting a new place you've never been to before. It'll help because you can make new memories instead of focusing on the past.""I'll try.""Or, you can come to my pack as a guest. I built a small amusement park for my wife, but it's been vacant for a long time. It'll be good to put it to some use and to help someone that needs a distraction."I put down my glass and looked at him, my head spinning for a while before I caught the keyword. "Vacant?""Yes, when it was just built, my wife loved to go there, but that was years ago.""So... she doesn't like it anymore?"He was silent for a moment. "She passed away.” I was stunned. "...I'm sorry.""It's okay. It was my idea, and it's also what she would have wanted - to make every child who meets us forget their troubles."I gripped the glass tightly, feeling the coldness from my fingertips. My mind seemed to enter a loop, replaying his words over and over again. After a while, I nodded. "Okay, I accept your invitation."Suddenly, Adalyn next to me grabbed my hand. I turned to look at her, but she looked concernedThe man obviously saw her expression. "Sorry, I didn't explain clearly. It's already a bit late and you two should be getting home."He looked at me and said, "I'll wait for you here tomorrow morning at ten. You can go back and talk to your family tonight before deciding whether or not to come." Then he smiled at Adalyn. "Is that more reassuring?"Adalyn let go of my hand and said seriously, "Yes."I also nodded. "Okay."I had a few more drinks before settling the bill and standing up. "Going home? Do you need me to drive you?" the man asked."No need. My father will come to pick us up. Thank you," I replied. He didn't say anything else, just gave me a business card, which I casually glanced at before putting it in my pocket.Adalyn and I left the bar, and soon my father's car stopped in front of us. We got in together and headed towards our pack. The streetlights outside flashed by, and my father looked at me through the rearview mirror. "You look much better now, Wren. Seems like drinking was actually helpful?""It's because I met a very kind older gentleman in the bar, Dad.""He comforted you?""Yeah, and then I figured things out.""That's good," my father smiled."Also, there's one more thing," I said. "He invited me to visit his pack tomorrow.” My father paused for a moment before saying, "Okay, we won't interfere with your decision. Just be safe and call us immediately if anything happens since you don't have a wolf yet.""Okay."The car first stopped in front of Adalyn's house before we returned home. The next day, I arrived at the bar on time, and the man was still wearing the same suit from last night. He greeted me, and I walked over and got into the car.As I looked out the window at the scenery passing by, my attention began to wander.Yesterday, after turning off my phone for half a day, Ralph did not try to contact me again, and no one else came to find me.I had a rare moment of peace for the whole night.Just as I was thinking this, my phone suddenly vibrated with a text message. An unwanted name popped into my head, but I reluctantly took out my phone and saw that it was indeed from Ralph.Feeling annoyed once again, I didn't read the message and added his number to my blocklist. As I finished doing this, I noticed that the car seemed to have arrived at its destination and was slowly stopping in front of a very familiar building. The familiar garden, the familiar path, the familiar mansion. Is this Ralph's home?!Before I could think too much, a servant rushed over and respectfully said outside the car door, "Alpha."What?I was stunned in the passenger seat without moving.Alpha?...Ralph and Hayden's father? This man was their father?!I suddenly remembered something and took out the business card from last night, Silas Miracle, with the same last name as Ralph."What's wrong?" He opened the passenger door and asked me.My mind was in chaos. "I…” "Are you feeling unwell?""No," I looked at him anxiously and asked with a last shred of hope, "I just want to ask you a question. Are you... Ralph's father?""Yes," he asked in confusion. "Do you know Ralph? Are you his friend?""No... I am..." I clenched my fists, reorganized my language, and said, "The boyfriend I talked to you about yesterday, is... Ralph."He also froze for a moment, looking very shocked. "My goodness."After a while, he frowned and said, "I'm sorry that my son did this to you.""No, it's not... your fault…” My inner turmoil surged again, and I quickly unfastened my seatbelt and got out of the car. "I think... I should go back.""Because you don't want to see Ralph?" he said. "But that's not why you came here today. You came here to enjoy yourself. I promise that no one but me will know you're here.” Because of his words, I suddenly relaxed. Yes, I can't let Ralph affect me anymore."And don't worry, I won't try to influence your decision because Ralph and Hayden are my sons," he added.I nodded."Then rest in the room I arranged for you for half a day to calm your nerves before going to the amusement park tomorrow?""Okay."Mr. Miracle called a maid and instructed her to lead me to the room and give me some prepared snacks later.I thanked him and followed the maid ahead. The room arranged for me was on the first floor. I passed through the familiar living room and walked a bit further before reaching the door. But just as I was about to open the door, Ralph's voice sounded next to me."Wren!”
