TRIVIAS POV. The door flung open suddenly, sending jolts of electricity down my spine. “You filthy w***e!.” Embry's raging voice called out on cue as he stormed into the room, grabbed me by the neck, and threw me against the floor. “What's this about?” I asked, parting my lips slowly as I dared not glance up into his eyes. “I would have known better than to get married to a lowly servant like you, useless to the core! And now you are sleeping around? So you bloody think I'm a fool?” He asked again, his gaze bloodshot as he bent to my level, yanked at my hair, and grabbed at it with full force. “You are dead to me from this instant; I do not ever want to see you or hear anything about you.” “I did nothing, I swear.” I pleaded, tears falling from my eyes as I listened to him rage on. “I saw you, my two bloody eyes, walking out of Stephan's room today, and I came after you, but here you are still laying against the floor, acting all pretentious!” He yelled again; it seemed more surreal to me. I didn't know what he was getting at. Stephan was his half brother who had tried seducing me countless times already, but I wasn't a w***e. I remained faithful to Embry, but why was he claiming to have seen what he hadn't? “Oh, please stop with the crappy tears and hold whatever it is you have to say to me. I knew you were cheap, bloody, weak, and useless down to the core, but a filthy low life would never amount to anything. I blame all this on my father!” He yelled again, holding me tight by the cheekbone, and I winced from pain, knowing if he applied a little more force, my jaw was definitely going to break apart. “You disgust me,” he added with a scoff. He moved away from me and proceeded to walk out before I grabbed onto his feet. “embry wait.. Please.. Listen to me; just because it wasn't me, I didn't do it. It had nothing to do with me. I swear by the moon goddess, I had been in my room all night. Ask the guards, the maids, anyone. No one had seen me come out; there is nothing between Stephan and me." I pleaded again as I kept on crying. Tears streaked off my cheeks to no stop as he jerked his legs off my grip. “You are crazy if you think I have a reason to be bothered by your thoughts or nonsense... I want nothing to do with you again; you can go ahead and be his mistress. I had better plans either way, but the blood moon festival is tomorrow. You are to remain locked up in this room until I say otherwise, and in two days I will know what to do with you. Filthy pig.” Having said that, he stormed out of the room and passed out orders to the guard by the door to bolt the lock until he gave other orders. I remained on the floor bawling my eyes out, my hand grabbed tight against my chest, as I felt the pain deep in at intervals. I was certain he had not seen me because I remained in my room all through. I had no reason to lie, but with him, it tended to be different things; someone had lied to him about it, and he trusted those words over mine. The door pushed open again, and I raised my eyes in the direction, surprised yet relieved to see my best friend Sheila make her way into the room. “Thank goodness you are here. I need your help, Sheila; you are the only wolf I can trust. It's Erebus; he's acting out. I don't know what's wrong, but he keeps claiming I've been having an affair with his brother. I need you to talk to him; he needs to understand that I would never do such a thing." I pleaded in tears to Sheila, who stood still, a stoic expression on her face. She moved away from my reach on cue while a loud laugh eased its way through her lips. “You look so pitiful—trivia, begging, crying. Asking me for help. Well, I had been the one who told Erebus you've been sleeping with Stephan, and yes, I know they are all lies, but I need to get my way.” Sheila responded, totally unfazed. The words shattered my heart, my mind clouded, my face went white from fear, and I felt myself get attacked by a throbbing headache. “No.. No.. You can't.. He can't... what exactly do you mean?” I asked again, my lips quivering. At that point, my heart hammered in my chest. “I've been having an affair with your mate trivia; Erebus and I had been lovers since the very first day you asked me to talk to him on your behalf. He loves me; we love each other. So far we've had a whole lot of steamy s*x; he even tells me how tired he is of you most times. My friendship with you, the silence, they've all been bloody lies." My heart shattered, and my world got plunged into darkness while I stared up at the devil I called a best friend. She had a smirk attached to the end of her lips, and pain like never before eased through my heart. Sheila had been the only one I trusted; I confided in her. I was transparent with her, and she had an affair with my mate, with tears streaked continuously on my cheeks to no avail. Worry thugged at my heart; I was betrayed and stabbed in the back. “And yes.. One more thing Sheila blurted out: the smug grin on her face. She enjoyed it; seeing me in despair! My life crumbled before her eyes, and she had never seemed more satisfied, she handed down an envelope to me. With a shaky hand, I picked it up, and as I read through the content, my heart shattered in my chest. Tears dropped continuously from the test results in my hand. “SERUM PREGNANCY TEST POSITIVE” was written boldly. “I'm pregnant trivia, and it belongs to your mate. Erebus and I are expecting a child!.”
