"Nah ah. No take backs. You already said yes" I tease her just as we pull up to the training gym. I climb out of the car and around to Layla'hs side just as she gets out. There are a couple of people slowly walking inside so we're not late yet. I pull her to me and kiss her. She pushes me away while I laugh.

"You're going to make us late, get off me" she says fighting against my hold. Instead of letting her go I scoop her up and throw her over my shoulder. "Chris let me down" 

"No can do Baby" I say as I start to make my way towards the gym. She wiggling around and trying to fight me so to get her to shut up I turn my head slightly and bite her beautiful ass.

Rhys looks at me then to Luke before looking back at me. He leans in closer and sniffs me as well.

"Chris you are going to break that poor girl. We talk about this yesterday remember. When I had to pick you up because she had cried herself to sleep again because of you" Rhys growls at me angry.

Training starts and I watch as Layla'h makes her way over to Tony again. It reminds me that I need to have a word with him at some stage while she's not around. "Man I'm gonna start banning you from training if you're not even going to do anything."

"Piss off man, I'm just keeping an eye on her, you didn't see the hit she took yesterday" I glance quickly at Luke.

"And I bet it wasn't nearly as bad as the hits she was taking at the start of the year. She's been training everyday all year with Tony and she's gotten better. She can handle herself, leave her alone."

"What! You've watched Tony hit her like that for almost a year!" a growl rolls up my throat letting him know how pissed off I am. 

"Yeah Alpha I have. She's fine. You're the one with a problem, like I said I will ban you, you're not even doing any work and speaking of work are you actually going to show up today or are you chasing Layla'h again today?"

"I'm coming to work today alright. We sorted things out. You know shits been messed up"

Luke backs away from me holding his hands up in defeat and I go back to watching Layla'h. I don't train at all and before I know it we're done for the day. I wait by the door for Layla'h to come to me. Lexi's caught up to her and they are happily chatting as they head in my direction. I'm so focused on Layla'h that I didn't even notice someone else slide up next to me until I felt a pair of hands wrap around my arm. Looking down I see Natalie. 

"Hi Chris, I noticed you didn't work out today. You should of told me you didn't have a partner I would of been happy to help you out" she says as she starts to run a hand down my chest. 

What the f**k. What is this chick up to. I've never like Natalie, not even back when I was still in high school. I always found her fake. She has blech blonde hair, wears way to much make up and her clothes leave nothing to the imagination. Before I can even answer her or peel her off me Layla'h and Lexi are there. I watch as Layla'h reaches up on her tippy toes and kisses me on the cheek. 

"I'll see you later, have fun with that Alpha." she says with a quirk of her brow and a smirk inching up the corner of her lip before she walks out the door with Lexi. I hear their laugher as they go. Fucken smartass is leaving me here by myself to deal with this. Oh pay back is going to be a beautiful thing. 

Looking back to Natalie I peel her arms off me and step back out of her reach. "I was just here to watch today, I got a workout in this morning before coming in. I've got to get to work now." and I turn leaving her standing there. I practically run from the gym. By the time I get to the parking lot Layla'h, Lexi, Rhys and Luke are standing round laughing. Rhys catches site of me first and his laughter gets worse. The asshole is doubled over which causes Luke to look in my direction as well and when he starts too, I know the girls told him exactly what I was stuck dealing with. This causes Layla'h to look over her shoulder. When her eyes meet mine I let her know exactly what's going to happen. 

"Baby, you best run" I let out on a growl. I watch as she gets that 'oh s**t' look on her face before she turns around and takes off, running across the parking lot before I start after her. I'm not concern she's going to get away. I know I'm going to catch her but the chase is always fun. Lexi jumps in my way to try slow me down while yelling for Layla'h to run. I pick her up in my arms before throwing her through the air towards Luke. Taking out the two of them in one go. Lexi squeals laughing as Luke catches her. I can see people all through the car park have stopped to watch what we're doing with the amount of noise we're making. Layla'hs still a head of me laughing her ass off as she runs. Just as I get her in grabbing range I get hit in the back before arms wrap around my neck and a pair of legs wrap around my waist. I hear Rhys yell in my ear.

"Run short stuff, I'll hold him off!"

The asshole weighs a ton and has slowed my pace, I watch as Layla'h reaches the grass oval and keeps running while I try to throw Rhys off. I hit the grass too and he's still attached to me so I throw myself down in a roll and roll straight over Rhys forcing him to relax his hold on me. I jump back to my feet before he trips me up by grabbing me foot. I manage to catch myself on my hands kicking his hand off my foot before taking off again. She's half way across the oval still laughing her ass off which is slowing her down. I can hear Luke, Lexi and Rhys yelling at her from behind us. I pick up my speed and within a couple of seconds she within reach. I lunge for her wrapping my arms around her waist before twisting so that I break her fall landing on my back. We roll a couple of times stopping with her tucked neatly underneath me. She's giggling her ass off beneath me and it's the best sound in the world. 

"Not fast enough Baby"

I nip at her neck while she continues to giggle making me smile.

Fucken little smartass. Not being able to think of anything better because she's put me on the spot I lick the side of her face from her jaw all the way to her hairline, causing her to laugh more and try to push my face away. Groaning before this woman drives me insane I get back to my feet and see her running back towards our friends, the group of them laughing. I say as I slowly walk us back to where everyone is standing.

Then the smartass starts laughing again. There was nothing else to do so I rubbed the side of my face against her's.

By the time we're made it back to the parking lot she's calmed down and has wrapped on of her arms around the back of my neck to help hold herself up. I place her back to her feet when we stop in front of our friends. The three of them look at us. Luke and Rhys both have concerned yet confused looks on their faces while Lexi is smiling at us. I'm guessing Layla'h told Lexi what's going on already. Rhys is the first to speak up. 

"So this is a thing now?" he asks waving a hand at the two of us. 

"Mmmh, Layla'h here agreed to let me rub my scent all over her" I say before rubbing my cheek against the top of her head. 

"Did not! You decided that was a thing." she shoots back before nailing my in the stomach with an elbow.

"Oof, s**t Baby why are you trying to hurt me" I say rubbing my stomach before turning back to Rhys. "No serious, we decided to date. Layla'h here is now after all these years my girlfriend." I finally answer his question.

"So what you guys are choosing?" Luke questions. 

"Not quite. I'll explain back at the pack house" I answer looking around so Luke picks up on the fact that there's still a whole heap of pack members watching us they don't need to know the details of mine and Layla'hs relationship. For all they know and can keep thinking that we're fated mates and that we're just taking things slow. We've always been close, so us showing more PDA shouldn't be much of a surprise when everybody knows Layla'hs birthday was the other day. 

"Right well we need to get to school and you boys need to get to work so lets get out of the parking lot" Lexi comments as she turns and walks away. 

I walk Layla'h over to her car which is still sitting in the lot where we left it yesterday. It might be an expensive car but we don't need to worry about anything every happening to it, I bet she even left the keys in it. I spin her around just as she gets to the drivers door, pushing her against the car. I kiss her then back away. 

"Bye Baby, I'll see you later"

"Bye Alpha" comes floating over my shoulder in her sweet voice. 

I leave Layla'h and drive back to the pack house. I shot up to my room and have a quick shower, getting dressed ready for the day. I walk into the kitchen and see everyone sitting there waiting for me. Sitting down I pile a plate full of food and start eating. 

"Way come on, explain to us what the hell is going on now" Luke grumbles out. 

Setting my knife and fork down I sit back in my chair and look at them. 

"So yesterday Mazie told Layla'h that her mate isn't here in the pack and we all know mine's not either. I asked Layla'h what she was going to do about finding her mate and she's decided that she's going to go to collage for graduation, she's going to live on campus to try and meet more people. Knowing that's 6 months away still I asked her what she thought about dating. We can spend the next 6 months together seeing if we fit, Layla'h can still go off to collage when the time comes and if neither of us finds our mates we can decide to be chosen mates but by dating at least we will know if we work before we choose. She agreed, so that's what we're doing. Any questions?" 

"Yeah what the hell are you going to do if one of you find our fated mate?" Luke spits out like we're crazy. 

"Like I told Layla'h we can always choose either our fated mate or each other." I thought it was pretty simple. 

"Oh yeah, I'm guessing you're working on the theory that Layla'h will be the one to find her mate but what if it's you and the mate bond is too strong for you to choose Layla'h then what happens? You break her and we all know already that the three of us won't be able to fix her and put her back together again. We all saw her on Sunday when you found out you aren't mates. She spent the whole day curled up on your lap. Come on Chris you're supposed to be the Alpha. What the f**k were you thinking even suggesting this!" Luke explores, baring his teeth at me so I know he pissed. 

I look around the table at the other two and they are both nodding their head agreeing with him. 

"f**k! I didn't think about that" I say pulling my hair in frustration. s**t Luke's right if I break her heart I don't think there's going to be any fixing it. That's were my head was when I came up with this idea in the first place and he's right it's been over three years that I didn't even consider me finding my mate. It was always Layla'h finding hers. It would hurt if she left me but I could deal with it. Getting out of my chair I start pacing around the kitchen. Back and forth, back and forth. 

"s**t!" I roar. "f**k! I just made it worse didn't I?" I stop and look at them, watching them all nod in agreement.

"Possibly back you can't take it back now. You two looked so happy before. There is always the possibility that neither of you find your mate. Just be good to her Chris and try not to break her heart." Lexi says as she gets up from the table and leaves the room. 

"Lexi's right, just be good to her and look after her" Rhys puts in before following Lexi out.

I slumped back down in my chair dropping my head into my hands. How could I be so stupid. 

"Look man, I know you love her. You've loved her since we we're kids even before her parents died and you guys got closer and I know you would never do anything to internally hurt her. The other two are right just take care of her and love her the way you do and we'll just have to take everything as it comes. There's nothing else you can do, not after your display this morning."

He's right. I made sure to rub myself all over her claiming her in front of everybody and that was just when we got to training, and then I really made sure to stake my claim by chasing her. It's something our wolves do when their claim a mate. The female lets the male chase her before letting them catch her. That's what Layla'h and I just did in human form. By running she let me claim her. She's been letting me claim her for years, I've been chasing her for years and I can't think of one single time where I've never caught her. 

"Man why did I only just realized now that I've been chasing her our whole lives, I've been claiming her our whole lives and she let me." I question Luke. We grow up together surely he's since it. 

"Because you're a dumbass. She loves you as much as you love her. She wouldn't let you catch her if she didn't" 

"Would it be so wrong choosing her. We've been doing it our whole life."

"I don't know man, there must be a reason the moon goddess didn't make you guys mates" Luke claps me on the back before leaving me to my thoughts. 

Memories of me and Layla'h over the years flash through my mind. Me chasing her. Like trying to catch a pretty butterfly. Holding on to it gently in your hands because it's breakable. Every single time I would catch her and because I've always been bigger than her I would scoop her up in my arms and gently hold her to my chest. I'm still chasing her now, she is yet to let me catch her that one last time, letting me claim her as 100% mine by marking her. I'm not sure now long I sat there thinking about her but my phone ringing finally pulled me out of my thoughts. It was time to get some work done. 

I spent the next couple of hours working stopping for lunch before being pulled out to do a boarder patrol so Luke can show me the new route which covers more of the area after Xavier told us about their problems with the rogues. I'd just finished having a shower and getting dressed when I heard Layla'hs soft voice floating up the stairs towards me. The girls must be back from school. I can hear them laughing and talking. I think they're doing homework by the sounds of things. I follow the sound of Layla'hs voice until I find them in one of the rec rooms, spread out across the floor with books and pens all round them. I must have taking longer in the shower than I thought. I slowly cross the room stopping next to Layla'h scooping her into my arms before sitting down leaning back against the couch and place her between my legs. 

"Hey Baby, how was your day?" I ask her placing a kiss on her neck, snuggling into her. 

"You know same old" she brushes off with a shrug.

"Hahaha, whatever. Your girl here ended up in detention for lunch after getting in a fight with one of Natalie's shank bitches and breaking her nose." Lexi laughs pointing a finger at Layla'h while c*****g her eyebrow in a I'm totally telling on you look. I watch with a smirk as Layla'h fires a pen across the room at Lexi hitting her in the forehead. 

"b***h! Chris do something about her would you, she's getting violent today" Lexi whines. 

"Well that should teach you for ratting me out. I'm supposed to be your bestfriend asshole." Layla'h pouts her bottom lip sticking out making her good so damn cute. 

I turn her head toward me, softly biting down on her bottom lip before kissing her, she lets me deepen the kiss before Lexi butts in breaking us apart. 

"Baby you do know that I would have found out without Lexi telling me. I know you're 18 now but technically for the rest of the school year you're still a ward of the pack so the school emails me every time you get in trouble and when you've done something really bad they will even ring me."

"What! So you've known every time I've gotten in trouble since the day you took over as Alpha?"

"Yep. How do you think I knew which nights I needed to check up on you?" I ask burying my face back into her neck. 

"No, that's stupid. You're making that up." she demands. 

I pull my phone out of my pocket bring it in front of both of us as I look over her shoulder. I unlock it and bring up my emails. Sure enough like I knew it would be. Sitting in my inbox is an email for the high school. I click on it opening it for Layla'h to read. 

"Oh my god, it even tells you what I did. That's so embarrassing" she covers her face with her hands. 

"Mmmmh. I know everything you've been late to class, even detention you've gotten. I get a copy of your grades. So I know you suck at Bio. I've had to meet with the principal a time or two about you're anti social behavior." I tell her with a laugh. Lexi's rolling around on the floor laughing when we hear Layla'h let out a groan. 

"It's alright Baby, I've always known you were a tiny grumpy anti social person, who struggles to show up anywhere on time." I tell her sweetly. 

"And just for that comment, I'm sleeping at home by myself tonight." she complains.

"I'm sure I can change your mind Baby." I whisper in her ear before nipping at her neck, I feel her body melt back into mine and I know she's not going anywhere. 

I let the girls finish their homework while I catch up on my emails, we have dinner and then I steal Layla'h locking her in my bedroom where we start to watch a movie back we don't get more than halfway through before we get distracted.
