Theo and Veronica saw the direness of their situation and leaped to find a way to get him out of the auditorium without the authorities noticing. Veronica went over to Dean Knox to start distracting him. Theo tried to hide behind people and not be noticed. Kate looked for Jess in the crowd and found her cousin talking to a few people.
She touched Jess's arm and said, "Could I talk to you for a minute?"
Jess gave a smile to the people she was talking to before coming with Kate. Kate led them away from most of the people so they wouldn't be overheard.
