"Please let us go," Abby said to the guy who kept silent. She... "Let's go," the boy repeated, ignoring us. The truck's engine started, and at that moment my heart sank as I realized that I might not see my parents again for a long time. I suppressed the urge to scream and free myself as much as I could, I had to hold it, if I didn't... I didn't know what could happen to me. I pressed my fingers to the ring I never took off. This one had to contain me. "Where are you taking us?" Abby asked after about a half hour of travel and silence. —I would like to take you into my home... What am I saying! our home —she corrected herself with a fake laugh—, but unfortunately I was going somewhere so let's go there. -Where is? Abby wanted to know. "A friend's house," he replied. I raised my face and looked at him with my expression of hardened annoyance. "Another madman just like you?" I asked him not knowing why. "Much more than me," he affirmed with a smile that produced chills. "Where have you gotten yourself, Rouse?" I thought, turning my gaze towards the window, trying to keep the storm that wanted to emerge deep within me, and keeping the tranquility provided by the magic ring I was wearing. No one else spoke all the way, I just looked out the truck window with my eyes fixed on the trees we passed, I really had a lost look. My mind found itself wanting to understand, understand everything that had happened, make it logical, but no matter how much I thought and thought, I couldn't. Nothing made sense. Looking at Abby, I guessed she was doing the same thing. Only that she looked from time to time by my side, because the boy did not take his eyes off her from her person. Of course it was uncomfortable. Leaning the side of my forehead against the window glass, I let out a breath. At that moment I felt someone touch the hand that was on my knee, I turned my face and looked at Abby. "Everything will be fine," he assured me in a whisper. I didn't answer him, I just smiled gratefully. Right now we need each other's support more than ever. Minutes later the truck entered a populated place, houses and open stores began to be seen. I watched people walk through what I assumed was the center, through the businesses and shops that were there. I watched as we left the urbanization behind to get back on a straight road, surrounded by forest. "Do you think we had to come here?" Abby asked me, looking out the same window as me. "I don't know," I replied without turning to see her, "maybe," I added when considering that option. He did not answer me because the trees began to clear, revealing some houses. You are isolated, more private. "They are beautiful," my friend said when she saw how big and beautiful the mansions were, completely dreamlike. I was surprised too. He couldn't believe that people lived so far from the city in houses like this, they must be extremely rich to have a home in this place. "If you liked those, then you're going to love ours," the boy told him. -Our? I heard Abby ask. —Of course, ours, everything of mine from today belongs to you. "We're not married enough for you to be telling me all this," she replied. "For now," he clarified calmly, transforming that serious face into a more peaceful one. I didn't know if listening to them talk like that and feeling left over was better than seeing your friend make out with her boyfriend, or with someone in your presence. It was like: Where am I going? Yes, it had happened to me. The vehicle turned to the left and from there it didn't take us long to arrive in front of a house, what am I saying, a huge house. Through the windshield I observed the large black gate, it was tall and at its ends there were pointed irons, on its sides there were large and high walls that protected and hid part of the house, but you could see part of its structure. The van stopped in front of the gate for a short time because the gate suddenly opened automatically, allowing us to enter the property. The truck parked and no one spoke, no one moved or uttered a word for a few long seconds. "Well, we've arrived, ladies," the boy warned us using a very casual voice note, but his report had caused tension to take over the environment. He got out of the truck and waited at the door for Abby to do the same, she shook her head and looked at me, she looked scared but was trying to hide it. We were completely trapped, we couldn't do anything but obey until we knew what our captor really wanted. My door was opened by the driver, I nodded in my friend's direction and we got out at the same time. The cool breeze carried with it a scent of the forest, relaxing. It hit my face, causing unruly strands of my hair to get in my way, and I pushed them away to look around. The sound of the cars that followed us, parking a few meters from us, made me observe the huge entrance being totally closed, seeing that made me swallow saliva, letting me understand that now we were officially without an exit. They had arrested my parents. Have they done something to him? I turned to Abby when I felt her link her arm through mine. We look at each other and ask ourselves, what now? with the look We didn't say anything to each other, we looked towards the boy in search of answers, and now that I had him in front of me, standing up and looking less beastly and with the environment much calmer, I could realize how tall he was, he definitely reached, if not exceeded, 1.90 meters. My friend and I looked like two minions next to her. "Let's go inside," he spoke, making a nod that indicated a clear message: follow me before moving toward the mansion entrance. With too slow steps, we follow him. I raised my face and I could appreciate that the house was too big and beautiful. I turned my face to observe more and saw a few men, guards, guarding. I narrowed my eyes and thought that maybe this guy was a Mafioso, but then I remembered that this wasn't his house but a friend's house. So, his friend was the Mafioso, because, from what I understood, only they could have such security, wherever I looked there were people watching. Before he knocked on the door, someone opened it. A blonde girl smiled at all of us. -You arrived! He exclaimed enthusiastically. Oh, and as always bringing guests," he reproached when his eyes left the boy's to see us, he crossed his arms in the doorway and raised an eyebrow waiting for an explanation. "Hey," the boy protested, a little embarrassed. I couldn't help noticing how Abby was looking at him questioningly, there was some annoyance in her expression. This time is different, this time I come with the right one," he proudly pronounced, turning to see us. Then the blonde also changed the direction of his gaze, towards us.
