Adina left the office feeling lighter than she had in weeks. The conversation with Rachel helped her clarify her thoughts, and she was excited to see Ethan's email.
As she walked home, she strolled through the park, enjoying the warm sun on her skin. The smell of blooming flowers and fresh-cut grass filled the air, and Adina felt at peace.
Suddenly, she heard a familiar voice behind her. "Adina, fancy running into you here!"
She turned to see Ethan smiling at her, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "What brings you here?" he asked, falling into step beside her.
Adina shrugged. "Just enjoying the view," she replied, gesturing to the park.
Ethan nodded. "It's one of my favorite spots, too. I come here to clear my head sometimes."
They walked in comfortable silence for a moment, the only sound being the rustling of leaves beneath their feet.
"So, have you thought about the hike?" Ethan asked, breaking the silence.
Adina felt a flutter in her chest. "Yes, I have," she replied, trying to sound casual. "I'm free this weekend. Would that work for you?"
Ethan's face lit up with a smile. "That sounds perfect. I'll pick you up at 9 am?"
Adina nodded, feeling a sense of excitement. As they continued walking, Ethan told her more about his favorite hiking spots and the things she could expect on their hike.
Their conversation flowed easily, and Adina found herself laughing and feeling more at ease around Ethan. She couldn't believe how natural it felt to be around him.
As the sun began to set, casting a warm glow over the park, Ethan glanced at his watch. "I'm sorry, but I have to go," he said, his voice apologetic. "I have a meeting soon."
Adina nodded understandingly. "It was great running into you," she said, smiling.
Ethan smiled back, his eyes locked on hers. "Definitely. I'll see you on Saturday."
As they parted ways, Adina felt a sense of anticipation. She couldn't wait for Saturday and the hike with Ethan. She had a feeling that this was just the beginning of something special.
