Nikki's P.O.V
"Hi, I think we got off on the wrong foot. Would you mind coming out to talk to me?
WTF why is he here! This is my secret place.
I mean I made all the necessary renovations to it.
About half a year ago Ash and I came across this cabin while out for a ride. It was old and run down the floor boards were rotting, the walls and ceiling were covered with damp and mold, there was no running water, the furniture was torn to shreds, there was no shower, hell there was no bathroom at all. No T.V.
I used my wages to renovate and modernise this cabin for myself so I could move away from my father and he wouldn’t even think to look here. I didn’t bother to redo the outside because I wanted it to look like no one had lived here for years and it was an unsafe place to live.
But now he has found me...ugh why can’t he just leave me alone.
He wants me to come out and talk to him? Ha fat chance.
“Look I didn’t mean to scare you. I followed your sent from the Stable to here. I just want to talk to you.” He said from the other side of the door.
He sounds Guilty and remorseful but I can’t trust him.
“Hey Can I at least know you’re okay... Please say something, anything.” He begged.
Should I say something
Yes, say something anything our mate is hurting and is worrying about us!
No
Why not?
Because we can’t have a mate, not until we can get away from dad.
Mate can save us
No, he can’t!
Why?
Because we DON’T NEED HIM! I can save us on my own, I don’t need a mate, we are not so weak or a damsel in distress!
Athena whimpered and retreated to the back of my mind. I could tell that she is hurting but I don’t need or trust men.
I sigh “I’m fine, please leave” I tell him
“She speaks. Your voice is so beautiful, can you please come out? I’d rather not talk to you through a door?” He asks. I can’t do that because I know the mate’s bond will pull us together and then I’ll never be able to get away.
I waited a moment to gather my courage “No, I will not open the door, you and I are not mates. We don’t know anything about each other and I don’t even know your name.”
I heard a noise from the other side of the door, I know what I said was harsh and it hurt him. It hurt me too.
“My name is Roman Rathbrooke and I am Alpha of the Newmoon pack. You Nikki O’Connell ARE my mate”.
I gasp he is the Alpha of the Newmoon pack s**t! s**t! s**t! What am I going to do now?
Accept him!

I understand but he is stronger than Sabastian was.
I cut the connection off from my wolf. I know that because Roman is an Alpha, he is stronger but I can’t take that risk. We are leaving tonight. I can’t put him in harm’s way.
I open the door and there he is standing there with hurt, regret, love in his eyes. That’s when I felt it. s**t I’m in heat.
It’s too late to close the door now.
