Chapter Fourteen

Nikki's P.O.V

'Nikki please, I'm begging you, Please tell me where you are. Tell me your okay.' 

Mmm Roman? Is that you? Where are you? Where am I? What's going on? Why is it so dark?

"Jesus doc! I don't want to get on the wrong side of you. I'll take care of her and the baby as if they were my own."

Hanzo is that you? What's going on? What happened? 

"Doc, I think she's waking up. Is she okay, what about the baby?"

BABY!!?

Oh, that's right! I fainted after I found out that I was pregnant. I guess the shock of finding my mate, becoming a mutt and finding out I'm pregnant finally took its toll on me. Oh f**k!!!  I am up s**t creek without a paddle. What am I going to do? If Roman finds out, I'm pregnant and with another male. I shudder at that thought. 

"Doc!! seriously what's wrong with her, why isn't she waking up?" Hanzo sound frantic and far away. I'm drowning in my thoughts of despair. There will be a storm if Roman finds me here.

'Hanzo!! I know you are worried about this young lady and her child, but you must give me room so I can examine and treat her. Understand?" So I guess the other male talking is a  Doctor?

"Hanzo, She's fine she should come around shortly. Why don't you get Lindo to fetch her some food and water.? Hmmm?" The doctor reassures Hanzo. I hear Hanzo leave. Should I open my eyes now? 

"You can open your eyes now, young lady." The doctor says pointedly.

I slowly open my eyes. A gentle, handsome looking man greeted me. He was blond with the most soothing blue eyes; I had ever seen. He wore glasses, white doctors lab coat. His long blond hair tied back down to his waist. He is about the same height as Hanzo. He has the same muscular build as Hanzo; I guess they train together.  

"So are you planning to just stare at me or are you going to say 'hi' at least" He huffed, I struggle to hold in my laughter. He looks like a little boy; it was so cute. 

"S-s-sorry. My name is Nikki O'Connell; it's nice to meet you, Dr...Um...Uh??"

"Oh, right, My name is Doctor Ren Kanzaki. It's nice to meet you, ms O'Connell."

"Please call me Nikki."

"In that case, all me Doc or Ren. Everyone in the village does.'

"Okay, I'll call you Doc, Just until I get to know you better."

"Great" He smiles warmly.

*Gasp* "Doc!?My baby!? Is my baby alright. Please tell me it's okay."

"Nikki, your baby is fine, I have examined you and from what I can tell you are three weeks + 5 along. But is there anything I need to know about you, your family and the father's history. To treat you accordingly, I need to know everything. So please, be honest."

"Well, If it'll help you treat my baby I guess you should know. But please know that I am NO threat to you or your village."

"Honestly Nikki, how bad could it be?"

"Just please don't freak out or think I'm crazy."

"You have my word."

"I'm a. I'm a .. Werewolf!!"

I look up at Doc and to say he was shocked would be an understatement. He looked like I have run over his dog or in my case, ate it. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but I need to be on guard. Just in case I need to make a run for it, I don't want to give the angry villagers a chance to grab their pitchforks and torches. I slowly get up off the bed. 

I slowly move towards the door; I was about to reach the door when Doc grabbed my wrist. That's when the panic set in.  CRAP!! The Doc is going to throw me to the wolves. 

I mentally slapped myself for that remark—poor choice of words. 

"Look, Doc; I'll leave, I won't return. But please just let me go!!!"

  At that moment, Hanzo burst through the door. He grabbed my wrist from Docs grasp. Hanzo lifted me in his arms. "What the f**k Doc!! She's only awake and now your terrifying her. Nikki did he do anything to you?"

"No, Hanzo. He wanted to know my history to treat my baby and I had to tell him I'm a Werewolf. Then he went all creepy."

"Oh, so that's what happened. *sigh* Nikki, Doc has never met a Werewolf before. He has only heard of them in his books. So I guess when you told him your one of them, he froze, He didn't mean to scare you. But when you tried to leave, he tried to stop you for the sake of your baby. Doc told me you need to be on bed rest for at least 4 weeks. Do you understand?"

'Yes Hanzo. You can put me down now."

"Huh..? Oh, right. Sorry." Hanzo look away from me blushing. He put me down gently back on the bed. 

I turned to doc and he was slowly starting to come back to his senses. He faced me and blinked a couple of times. 

"Nikki, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to scare you, but as Hanzo explained, you are the first Werewolf I have met. But you should be on bed rest for up to at least 4 weeks."

"Doc, there is something else you should know. This baby will arrive in 41 days."

"What!!?? 41 days!? How can that be possible, the average time to carry a baby to term is at least 40 to 42 weeks not days!!!"

Now it seems like it's the docs turn to freak the f**k out.

"Look Doc, I'm a Werewolf our pregnancy is shorter than a human's. Think of a actual wolf their pregnancy is 62 to 75 day, the same as a Werewolf."

"I-I-I.. see. In that case you are to be on bed rest for the next 41 days. Hanzo you and Lindo are to wait on her hand and foot. Understand?"

"Yes Doc!"
