CHAPTER4

“Get the dining table set. Hey, don't do that. You are toiling with the seat covers. Get the party hall ready “

My stepmother threw orders around to the pack members.

Today is the Day of the Alpha King's arrival. Wolves who had been sent to know if the king was close came back answering positively, so the final touch of the preparation was put in place.

Now is not the time to dress up. The judgment had to be passed first, and I found comfort in my room. My dad wasn't pleased with my decision, but I lied to him that I had a runny stomach, and he let me off the hook.

Suddenly, a howl was heard from outside, signifying the arrival of the Alpha king and his entourage.

Everyone rushed outside, including my stepmother and Alisa. I was the only one remaining in the pack house.

The whole atmosphere changed, I could feel the power radiating out of the new presence even from inside.

I began hearing voices, it seemed the Alpha king had been led inside because I was fighting the force to bow.

The seven Alphas of the East Region were already present. My Dad led all of them to his meeting room.

My wolf stirred in my head.

Since I don't go out running often, my wolf and I hardly communicate ,we only do that when necessary.

I didn't ask her any questions, I just let her be.

Eve dashed into my room, worry etched on her face.

She must have heard of my runny stomach.

"Are you alright dear? I heard you aren't feeling too well"

"I am very fine, I only did that because of your advice really"

"What advice?"

“Stay out of the Alpha King's way”

"Oh, girl, you don't listen to me often, and you lied to your dad, something you rarely do. There must be another reason."

"You got me, I am actually scared of that Alpha king."

She shuffled closer to me.

"You know, all the rumors might be true. What if he senses that I am weak and snaps my neck? "

"Nothing like that will happen,see."

She stood up and swirled around me , only stopping to palm her bump.

"I'm OK and so are the rest of the pack members. He didn't even utter a word to anyone. "

"Ok"

"Girl, you know we heard all the rumors, right? Did you ever hear of his face?"

I shook my head negatively.

"He is a sight to behold. I have never seen someone so handsome and well-built.

I heard he never leaves his house without his cloak, but today he is dressed simple " she complimented.

I sighed, uninterested, what's the use of a fine face when the character is bad?

"Please stay with me" I told Eve.

"Anything love"

Time passed so fast, Eve and I still snuggled up with each other, we didn't leave the room since then.

Suddenly, we heard a soft knock coming from the other side of the door.

Kathy peeked into the room, her face glowing with a smile.

" The stylist is here. Should I let her in?"

"Yes"

In a few seconds, we heard feet shuffling closer. Eve had sat upright by this time .

Anna came inside smiling brightly at us. We exchanged pleasantries.

I was pushed into the bathroom to clean up

"Are you ready dear?" Anna asked when I stepped out of the bathroom.

"Yea" I answered dryly , I wasn't looking forward to the party at all.

I wish I didn't have to go.

Eve excused herself to go get dressed. We have to go to the party together.

Anna began smoothly working on my face. She kept putting different products on my face.

I felt my wolf stir inside me again. This was the third time she had done this.

I actually forgot to tell Eve about it “Hey how are you doing in there,” I asked Judy.

“ I want him”Judy, my wolf said,

I shut her down immediately.I was so confused. Who did she want?

I stood in front of the mirror sizing myself up.

I mean I looked beautiful the first time I tried the cloth but now I definitely don't have a word for it.

My wavy hair was straightened ,my face looked like an edited part. I looked absolutely different and beautiful. The dress really complimented my face.

Eve burst into the room, she looked great too , her cute little baby bump suiting her perfectly.

"Wow you look gorgeous", Eve complimented.

"You too dear,,"

"Time to go, the party has already started"

We thanked Hannah and left holding hands the way we usually do "

As we drew closer to the party hall, my wolf stirred again. This time sitting up , I shut her down again, pushing her to the back of my mind.

I dragged Eve to a stop. She was excited about the party. She didn't even notice I was off

“What is wrong?” She asked as she saw the worried look on my face.

“Judy has been stirring, jumping and pacing inside my head for a while now”

“How long” The unwavering look of concern on her face appeared.

“Since when all of you went out to welcome our guest”

A smile appeared on her face.

“Really have you ever experienced something like this? “

“No, you know Judy has been unnecessarily quiet since the delay of her mate and my lack of letting her run”

She came closer to me, whispering in my ear

“I think your mate is one of the guests. I experienced this too when I met Mateo.”

She shoved her hand into mine, urging us to work faster.
