Another smirk appeared on his face and he rushed at the demon, crossing the daggers in front of him. Their power began to radiate, illuminating the small clearing to the point of blinding. The vines retreated from the brilliance and wrapped around the tree demon, seeking to protect it.
“You can’t run now… the party’s just starting,” Toya exclaimed and pushed the crossed blades against the vine-covered trunk.
An inhuman wail resonated from the demon as the daggers began to freeze and burn through the vines.
