Chapter 2 The Man in the Room

Elaina changed into a bathrobe and leaned against the window, staring blankly at the lively dinner party being held below.

If Alpha Layton hadn't lost his memory, then…

At the thought of that, Elaina shook her head vigorously.

She had nothing to do with Alpha Layton anymore!

She stood up and was about to turn around when a pair of arms suddenly stretched out behind her and caught her off guard.

Suddenly, he took two steps forward and pressed her against the wall.

Her back laid flat on the cold wall, but his chest was hot and broad.

The man remained unmoved. Eleina’s eyes dropped onto his body and she saw that he was injured. Now, she could understand what he meant by asking for help.

"You're injured and still bleeding. You can't..." Elaina tried to persuade him, “Wouldn't it be worse if you bleed too much and die instead of being saved?”

The man gasped for breath. He seemed to feel that it was really inconvenient to stand by the wall, so he picked up Elaina.

However, the room was too dark for him to find the bed. He had to take two steps to carry Elaina to the table in front of the window where there was only a little light shining over them. He suddenly pressed down and said, "I will be responsible for you."

Elaina sat at the table, with her back against the window, naked.

Outside was a lively dinner party, and people's conversation from time to time was still ringing in her ears.

She struggled so hard that she almost lost her strength. She was so nervous that she didn't know what to do. Like an injured little beast, she let out a suppressed low cry.
