"Did Ken visit?" Draven's voice came just as I was placing the salmon in the pan. His voice was weak, the usual sharpness in his tone and eyes long gone. I busied myself with lunch preparations before nodding. "Yes." Draven said nothing after that. He dragged a chair and sat at the dining table. His bed hair covered half of his face, and his usually trimmed beard had grown longer. The dark circles under his eyes looked like a heavy burden on his handsome face. "Did something happen?" I asked while preparing the mashed potatoes. He looked at me briefly before lowering his gaze. "Nothing." He cleared his throat. A sign of lying. He was lying. "I see. Do you want some cupcakes? Ken brought some for the kids." "Ah… no, thanks." My frown deepened, but I chose silence
