Izzy’s POV
I notice Stephan isn’t at breakfast, although I find that very strange since he isn’t coming from Europe. The time difference between Seattle and Montreal isn’t nearly as hard to deal with as if he was coming from Scotland, Greece, or Romania.
The really odd thing is that his Beta Oliver is at breakfast, and he looks very uncomfortable. Enough so that I become concerned.
“Is everything all right?” I ask the Beta. “Will King Stephan be joining us soon?”
“I don’t really know,” he says nervously. “I’m not entirely sure where Stephan is at this moment.”
“What do you mean?” I ask further.
“Last night Stephan said he was going for a walk before bed,” the Beta confided to me. “He’s a bit of a night owl, and has trouble sleeping sometimes. And… he hasn’t returned yet.”
