Jan’s POV
I awake to the sound of knocking on my door. I call out to whomever it is to enter.
“Princess Janette?” The housekeeper Clara calls out to me as she opens the door. “There’s something strange going on downstairs! You should probably come down.”
“What is it?” I ask, growing alarmed. I struggle to sit up in the soft bed in order to see Clara better.
“Sweet goddess, I don’t even know how to describe it!” She exclaims, wringing her hands in agitation. “But there’s something going on with Prince Theodor!”
“What’s going on with Theo?” I ask, now even more alarmed. “Is he dying? Is he… Dead?”
“Neither, ma’am,” Clara says, and I’m not sure whether to be happy or sad at that news. “He’s out of bed, and acting very strange.”
