“I think we’ve got the werecat on camera, Leo,” my head of palace security tells me via mind link. “She just now jumped the gate at the park entrance, setting off the alarm. Oh, now she’s jumped up into a tree. My guards are on their way there now.”
“Do not engage with the cat!” I reply back. “She will tear them to shreds. Just have them sniff around, but do not engage! I’ll be up there in a moment.”
Of course this would all be going down while I’m trying to make love to my mate, Amelia. I turn the mind link off for the next five or so minutes, and ramp things up quickly.
