“What the hell are you doing, Steph?” Oliver asks me, angrily. “You’re supposed to be here to woo Princess Isabelle! Why did you bring that devilish mutant here with us? Is Jocelyn really more important to you than the wolves of our nation? You need an heir, Steph! Not some play thing who can never be your mate.”
“It’s not like that,” I try to explain. “Jocelyn knows I need a mate, and that it can’t be her. She’s just having a difficult time saying goodbye, that’s all. She promises not to interfere with my mate bond.”
