Chapter 6 ''I can walk by myself '' she muttered proudly, it took all her courage to speak in front of Adrian, he was too aloof. "Jerk" she whispered under her breath. "What? Do you want to reach there next year? I really wonder if people can survive in the forest for that long by themselves, especially when wild animals really like human flesh" He sounded so serious that it made her speechless. He was amused, this woman was really interesting. When she thought and kept quiet, she looked like a little white rabbit trying to escape its predator. Her eyes moved frantically as if searching for a way out. She sealed her lips and decided to let him carry her. After all, she really was hurting and this man! He was really handsome. It doesn't hurt to flirt a little isn't it? She brewed this idea in her head and muffled a snicker. The man looked at her and shook his head. She was really strange and didn't fear him at all. Wait until you know about the reality, woman! The study room was darker than the rest of the castle, Adrian switched on the lights, the laid back interior looked more like a calm and sophisticated place. There was a study table and strange designs were engraved all around it. It was made of some crazy expensive wood which looked very old. Even though everything looked old, it was still majestic and shined as if new. The couches and chairs were covered with animal fur and leather. She didn't doubt its authenticity for once. What kind of a place is this! She was really perplexed. The ceiling was really high and the shelves were on the level with the ceiling and inbuilt in the walls. It was filled with tens of thousands of books. The books looked as if they were centuries old, kept here safe and sound. They were thick, their pages were turning yellowish and very prone to damage. "What kind of books are they?" The books looked intriguing to her, she always held a keen interest in books. The man didn't bother answering her and made her sit on the opposite side of his chair at the study table. He was really gentle in his gestures. "This place isn't as simple as it looks, Avery '' he warned her seriously. She could sense the severity of the situation in his tone. "What do you mean?". This place was calm and she could hear even his and her own breathing. She was a little nervous. It was true that she indeed found this place weird. After all, rarely any place was ruled by kings and queens in this generation and even if there are such kingdoms, why hasn't she heard of this place? This kingdom looked much more mysterious and secluded than rest of the world. "This is the kingdom of Etheris and I'm the ruler here, Adrian Anderson. I'm sure Lily told you about this" He informed her, staring deep into her eyes. She nodded her "I need to get married soon.." he took a pause before continuing "with you". He had told her already about it so she wasn't shocked. He pulled out the upper drawer of the study table and pulled out a stack of paper. Avery scanned the documents carefully "contract?" She confirmed as she looked up in his eyes again. "Yes, it's a confidential contract".
