Avery woke up abruptly, darkness was surrounding her. She rubbed her eyes and adjusted her blurry vision. A figure seemed to be standing in the darkness. "Who is there..? Tell me who are you?.. "she stuttered fearfully and confused. Where was she? "It's me, Avy " a familiar voice came to her ears and it gave her immense joy for a minute as he called her Avy. "Richie... " she called to him happily. He came forward and as soon as Avery's gaze landed on him, her smile vanished. "Richie..., yo..you are hurt" she whispered. She lifted the quilt and tried to walk over to him but her legs didn't allow her to. They were frozen. "I... Richie.. " she started but he cut her off. "You didn't come for us... Avy... You didn't save us" he said aggrevied. His handsome teenager face was filled with bruises. His clothes were dirty and messed up. His once lively face was horrificly pale. "What... Richie.. It's not like that... I tried to find you and Kiya but I couldn't... I tried until my legs gave up. You know I love you both dearly...how can I forget you? Anyways I apologize my sweethearts, please come to me. I'm glad, you're okay.. " she said the last part hesitantly. He let out a sneer and it send a cold chill down her spine. She had tears in her eyes and her hand was wanting to grab his brother but he was far, far away. "We're dead, Avy. We're dead because of you. We died in Plane Crash. We would have been alive if you came for us that time " he said with no expression and disgust for her. Her tears flowed out uncontrollably. She was speechless. "I.. It...c... Can't.. Be, Richie.. You are fine right? Stop... M... Messing.. I... I'm... S... Scared " she said stuttering with a smile and tears at the same time. But only she smiled and soon it faded. "We died, Avery. Goodbye forever " He said coldly before he disappeared into thin air. "No.... " she shouted. Avery opened her eyes in a panic, sweating profusely. She looked around and found herself in a strange room. She realized she has been dreaming all along. It was lighted dimly. The room was spacious and well decorated. It was an old architecture here but quite royal. A big chandelier was also hanging on the ceiling and several portraits were decorated on the walls. She looked out of the room, the sun seemed to be setting. She touched her face and wiped the sweat away. She realized that she had been crying all the time. After wiping her face, she lifted the quilt and tried to stand up. It was painful but she managed to do so with much difficulty. She limped out of the room slowly and into the corridor. It was a long way. She limped all the way out from the corridor for five minutes before she reached in a big ground or huge backyard, she wasn't sure. It was beautiful and big. Several shirtless men were exercising there. She realized now, there was no one in the palace. Atleast the part where she was and all along in the corridor. She didn't even saw a woman. She found it quite weird. Being only girl at such a strange place, it made her uncomfortable. "What are you doing here? " someone asked in a husky and cold voice. Just when she was lost in thoughts. She turned around and met the jade eyes again. She looked at his beautiful face and shirtless body speechlessly. "Are you dumb? " he asked sarcasticly as he raised a brow. "N..no.. You know English? " she asked him foolishly clenching at the corners of her dress. "Am I talking in Italian then?" he sneered. She shifted her gaze uncomfortably on the ground before looking at him again. It was obvious if she could understand him then obviously he's speaking her language. "No... I... Who are you?" she asked nervously. She was a brave and confident girl but in front of this hunk, she felt as if she lost her words. He looked at her for a few seconds but didn't reply before calling out for someone calmly. "Lily " he called someone over. A young girl maybe in her early twenties came running over to him. "Yes, your majesty" the servant politely answered. Your majesty? Is he a prince? Anyways, it didn't matter to her as long as she can find her siblings and leave here. Avery breathed a sigh of relief after she saw Lily. She was really nervous that there was no woman. It was ridiculous not having women around but when she saw none, she couldn't help but prepare herself for the worst. "Take Ms.—" he stopped and looked at her. "It's Avery, Avery Grey" she introduced herself. "Take Ms. Grey and help her get ready" he ordered. The servant nodded her head before urging her to come with her. Avery was confused. "G... Get ready.. For what? " she asked timidly. "Aren't you hungry? Wash yourself and come for breakfast" He demanded coldly before turning back to his people or soldier or guards? She wasn't sure again. A blush crept on her cheeks when she heard him say "wash yourself ". "You mean dinner" she corrected him a bit shyly. He turned around and looked at her amusingly. "If you call morning feast dinner then yeah, dinner " he blurted out with a sneer and walked out from there. The girl standing beside Avery, chuckled softly. Avery looked at her, then at the sky. It was turning bright. Ahh.. It felt like sun is setting from the room. She slept whole day almost twenty four hours, but what about her siblings? She wondered if they even ate something, she frowned at the thought of it. The girl beside Avery was blonde and thin. She had chestnut brown eyes and thin lips. "This way, Ms. Grey" she gestured her to her room. "please call me, Avery" Avery asked of Lily politely. Lily was a kind girl, she smiled and started talking with Avery. Avery learned many things about this place like this place or country is called Etheris and the man with jade eyes was the king of the country. Avery almost choked on her saliva when she learned that. She has been so casual around him and she behaved foolishly. What will he think of her?. His name was Adrian Anderson. Everyone respected him and he himself trained his people in the country to learn how to fight and helped learn new techniques. All the shirtless men were excercising there earlier. He was cold and domineering but he wasn't too full of himself. She nodded in understanding. He may help her find her siblings. She was happy after learning about him. She showered quickly and got dressed up in a light blue floral dress. It was hot here so the thin fibre had a cooling effect on her body. Lily helped her change the dressing on her wounds too before they made their way to dining room. The dining room was no less royal than any other room. Avery was again in awe. She stared at it with wide eyes, her mouth agape. "Take a sit " Adrian ordered her with a cold face. She took her seat on the long wide table. It felt awkward, there were only two of them at such a huge table. "Lily told me a bit about this place... " she muttered lowly. He looked at her for a moment " Eat first then I will tell you the rest " he offered. Even though she wanted to just skip all of it, She had to control herself. She didn't know much about this place or people here. What if she got herself in more trouble? She had to figure it out cleverly. When she recalled the dream she didn't even feel like eating. Tears welled up in her eyes. Nonetheless, she suppressed her emotions and took big bites of food. She couldn't deny she was hungry. She wolfed down on her food rather quickly. Adrian had been watching her from the moment she sat to until now. She never paid much attention to him. It was no mystery that women died for him but this girl.... She was different from her... But... He watched her amusingly. She had no care for anyone in the world when she ate. She ate as if no one was there. He had a trace of sadness in his eyes again and a small smile he had no idea about. Soon, they were done eating. "Are you done?" he asked. She nodded her head to his question. "You may have a lot of questions, you can ask them. I will try my best to answer them " he offered. She didn't expect he would be so direct. Earlier, she wanted to ask a lot but now she was at a loss. "umm... I...how about I tell you about my situation? " Avery asked carefully as she noticed his expression. He was calm and he nodded lightly. "I was travelling to France but there was a Plane Crash and unfortunately, I landed here. I was not alone. Even though it was a private jet, I was with my brother and sister. But When I regained consciousness, I was lying in the middle of forest and I couldn't find my siblings anywhere" she muttered sadly. There was so much sadness in her eyes as if the whole world collapsed. For a mere second, Adrian felt guilty for her before he realized.. He can't afford to be sad and tell her the truth.
