No way! I had to not be hearing him right, right?! It was his lame attempt at a joke, right? Because there was no way that he just said---!
“It’s back in Luxberg,” he continued--- and my jaw was lost somewhere on the floor. No…! He must have seen the disbelief, shock, and ‘Are you f*****g kidding me?!’-look in my eyes because he quickly added: “In my defense, I never imagined using it in my home for what it was designed to do.”
“Asshat,” I grumbled with a sigh, before even really processing what he was saying. ‘Not what it was designed to do’?! I frowned, looking up at him: “What DO you use it for?”
For a second, he actually studied me. Like, looked at me like a wolf would look at a piece of meat. Appraising me in a way that made me think, he wished he could read my mind…
