I love you!
I could have sworn I heard Luka say that, but the words were only in my head. Was it real? Was it wishful thinking? Or was it like that time when I heard that bimbo’s thoughts? I didn’t know, but if he did, there was no doubt in my mind what the answer would be.
I love you too, I mentally told him. Nuzzling closer to him and breathing in his scent, I drifted off to sleep. A little while later I woke up, Luka caressing my naked back. As if sensing I was awake, he looked down at me and gave me a small smile.
“Hi, beautiful,” he rasped, his voice husky from sleep. “How are you?”
How was I?!
Happy. Ecstatic! Nervous. Glad. Afraid… Felt like someone just took me and dropped me off at the top of a mountain and now I had no idea where to go!
