I stared at Owen, and my mind went fuzzy, and suddenly all other noises along with everyone else vanished.

I was standing in the garden with Owen, talking, but he then grabbed my wrist and pulled me behind a tree.
''What are you doing?'' I giggled and shoved him.
''The guards are watching us, I want privacy,'' He told me as he leaned in, placed a hand on the tree beside my head and kissed me. It wasn't the soft, storybook kind of kiss, this one caught me off guard, warm and certain, like he'd been waiting years to do it. My breath hitched. The air, thick with the scent of blooming jasmine.
''Come to my room tonight,'' He whispered against my lips.
