“Relax. I’m here.” Nana Gloria squeezed her hand.
She forced a smile. She didn't want to burden her grandmother any further. There was already too much happening. She knew her grandmother was just showing strength, but she was hurting deeply too.
"If you want to back out, it's okay. Just say it," her grandmother said.
She shook her head. “I’m really fine, Nana. I really do.” She returned the squeeze.
A few minutes later, she caught sight of the Green Sky Village signage. Her heart pounded as the taxi pulled into the area and stopped at the guardhouse.
“Where to, Ma’am?” the guard politely asked.
“dela Merced residence,” she replied, taking a deep breath.
