CHAPTER THIRTY (No more talking to birds.)

953 Words
It had been about six days on the water and the rope in his mouth was finally wearing out. She constantly gave him food to eat because Naxis said that he wanted him in good condition. Although whenever she gave him something to munch on, she would have a knife aimed at his throat, to prevent him from trying anything to escape.     She had kept a close watch on him every night. Mupo thought of escaping when she slept, but she didn't even go to sleep. This assured Mupo that she was insane. She would just sit there keeping an eye on him while he slept.     Mupo felt very uncomfortable too,of the six nights he only slept for four. The rope was uncomfortable and he had to try his best not break free or the rope would squeeze him till he pops. He didn't mind being restrained he just wished that they would have shackled him or something more comfortable.     Whenever the rope was in his mouth he would graze it with his teeth to try and wear it out. It was very close to snapping and the huntress didn't even notice. Mupo's plan was to shout out the sea serpent's name Immediately his mouth was freed.     There was one hindrance to his plan however. He wasn't able to remember it's name. "Lokona.....no that can't be it. " he thought. "Lukima....no that's not it either. Why is it so difficult to remember? " a flock of Hawks then started to approach them from afar. The huntress' eyes were filled with relief. "Finally." She said with joy. "What took them so long?" Mupo started panicking and started grazing the rope even faster. "Hey Njoka....get ready for another ride. No tricks this time." He grazed the rope as fast as his teeth could. The hawks got so close that he ran out of hope and just tried to speak with the rope almost about to snap.     "LUKANDA!!!" He shouted and the rope moved down to his chin and back in his mouth. Nothing happened and Mupo thought that he didn't hear him. So he tried shouting again" LUKANDA!!!" And the rope moved back into his mouth. He started to wonder if it was going to work, because he wasn't sure if he had even said the correct name.     "What....what are you doing now you fool?" She said as she started getting worried. Then she quickly grabbed the rope to attach to the hawks. The birds moved closer and closer ,But before she could throw the ropes to them, a large amount of water splashed onto her face and hands causing her to drop the ropes out of her hands and clear her eyes . Then emerging from the water was the sea serpent, looking majestic as ever. It must have been swimming nearby and to Mupo's joy. It's emerging from the water almost caused the boat to end up capsized. It stood way above the water as if ready to hear instructions.     Mupo then grazed his teeth harder until the rope snapped. He then shouted immediately. "Take us away from these hawks to-" she knocked him out again. The sea serpent heard his incomplete command and moved under the boat, causing the boat to shake a lot, started to rise a little from the water and started carrying it away from the eagles in the opposite direction.     The birds chased after the serpent as fast as they could but it was no use, the serpent was just too fast especially in the water. The huntress was so upset that she wanted to kill him. She tried striking the serpent with her axe, but it kept swimming until the hawks were out of site.     It then stopped swimming as Mupo's unfinished orders were to take them away from the hawks and descended into the water. The huntress had no choice but to wait for the hawks to reach them and the sea serpent really swam far, considering it had to move faster than hawks.     It took almost two hours but they finally came back to the boat. They also probably had a hard time finding the boat. The huntress tied the hawks to the boat and they took off.     When Mupo woke up again he didn't have a rope covering his mouth, yet he was still untied."I don't understand did she forget to cover my mouth?" He looked at her and she was standing in her usual position, facing the other direction as usual. "Hey hawks! I command you to stop flying and untie me." The huntress didn't even flinch. "Hawks the Njoka commands you to untie him. Hawks haw-"     "Shut up! Your being a pest."     "What in Ophidia is going on right now?" She didn't say anything, she just kept standing with elbow on her knee while holding her cheek. She picked up the whip and whipped the eagles and they started going faster." Why didn't they listen to me? What is happening? "     Then blood that came from above dropped onto his right thigh."huh? Where did this come from? " when he looked at one of the birds he saw that it had two holding on either side of it's head with blood oozing out of the hole. Mupo's eyes then widened with shock, disgust and hatred. "Did he remove their ear holes? That guy is sick! What kind of monster would do such a thing?"     "This man wants the Njoka for something." He thought. "If she's taking me to the cave of serpents then it's obvious what he wants. The perfect question to ask is why does he want it. What in Ophidia does he want with a fruit that kills people within twenty four hours." When he thought about it he had no recollection of reading anything about the poison fruit. "It must be another advantage of being Njoka....but nevermind that....I need to come up with another plan quick." Mupo got extremely worried, time was running out and he needed to escape.
