"An old bastard like you should just retire from work. A marionette who can't even distinguish danger from dignity. Never talk about a past of mine that should have never existed just because you killed my parents." Yes, this is a part of the plot. Bennett's parents were killed by the Royal Family, executed because they were accused of treason by someone, none other than Duke Maximyst. That's the reason why Bennett agreed to poisoning the Duke in the novel and there, she became a villain. "What?" smirking as I pushed my hair away from my face. Showing him the white strands Bennett hid from everyone, including Alliezar. A sign that she was once a part of high society but even so, the name of Bennett's family is now long gone. "What do you think, father? Do you still want to work with a devil?" - He remained speechless throughout the ride as I waited patiently for us to get on the Manor. "You'll meet your future siblings," he cleared his throat as I scoffed. "Well, aren't you too excited for that? What makes you think that I won't decline your offer?" "You won't." I clicked my tongue out of defeat. "You know? You should just drop the act, old man," I waved the papers in front of his face then gave it to him. "What are your intentions?" he asked as he fixed the arrangements of the papers, tidy. "I need power to bring the Zelxarites down." I can't tell him about my main goal for now. "We have the same enemy, so won't it be better if we get along?" I can scarcely hear what he just said. "I don't think we can. Not until you tell em your true motives, I just can't seem to trust you, your highness " He sighed, maybe feeling tired? "You need to be careful, being a noble is not easy nor shall you be childish while you're counted as one, you need to reach the high-society on your own, that is, if you're motivated enough for your own power" Facing the window as I take sight of the manor, it looks so wide from the outside. Elegant, screams power and grace. "Why me?" not convinced that he had really chosen me to fight with him and maintain the honor of their family. "You're the only one who can kill without bloodying your hands," he was honest, too honest that it's suspicious. "If you seek for revenge, just come with me, it's alright to not trust me since I don't too but this might be the only choice both of us have in order to protect the kingdom and fulfill your goals," the tone of his voice changed, like a lion who seeks for meat, I can feel his bloodlust growing, more than mine. Protecting the kingdom is not your real goal. The carriage stopped as one of the knight opened the door. I stepped out ignoring the hand that he held out for me to hold. You pointed your sword at me earlier, I'll show you no respect. I held my chin up. This day onwards will be the start of my change. The change of a belittled villainess. "Are you my new sibling?" a teen, maybe around 15 spoke to me. She was beautiful, her black hair was short yet she still looks dignified. A fair lady who held her hand out for me as she showed no emotion. I can feel the numbness and her ulterior motive on those golden eyes, as if she was already marking me as someone who'll be her meal sooner or later. I held her hand, warm. "Hello, sister!" like a child, I raised the tone of my voice. Hoping that she won't doubt the glee I had on my eyes. Please, make it work. She cleared her throat as I saw a tint of red on her ears. You are still a child despite the maturity your face holds. "Octavia, Octavia Maximyst," taking her hand back as she curtsy. "Come on now, you need to get changed," Duke Maximyst spoke as he walked in front of us. I held onto Octavia's hand as I acted scared. I need someone by my side while it's still early. "Are you scared?" she asked, still maintaining her refined figure. I nodded, showing the doll eyes I never thought I had. Then suddenly I felt my weight being carried like a princess, the wind gushing across my face, everything happened so quickly that I almost didn't notice. "How old are you? You are so tiny and light" she stated. "Eleven! Is being tiny and light bad? Big sister? " her eyes widened as she stopped her tracks to process what she just heard. "Big sister?" I repeated. Shaking her head as she went back to walking, answering a simple 'not really.' I might have successfully captured her heart for the first time. "You will be buying your clothes tomorrow," the Duke announced before disappearing to his room. "Can you come with me, big sis?" I asked while ruffling my shirt, hoping that I wouldn't get ignored. "Alright, I'll show you around as well," she looked at me before looking away again, I guess she doesn't smile a lot? Gazing around the manor as I saw golden lining painted against the beige walls. A frame where their family was visible. The Duke and Duchess, two young lads and of course, the youngest, Octavia. "Those are our brothers, Eli and Rox." I nodded as she put me down walking me to my assigned room. As soon as we got in, I went in awe. The room's color was vibrant yet beautiful. It was more mature-looking than I've expected since I was a child after all. "You like it?" she bends down while looking at me. I smiled then nodded repeatedly, hugging her. "I love it big sis!" giggling as I run around the room like a child. Rummaging through my closet only to find a few dresses that were surely a fit for me. "Those are mine, I wore them when I was still around seven," she stated as she rang a bell. Soon, servants came, two caught my eye, one with ginger hair, one with olive hair. They were the most eye-catching ones besides the others. It feels like I've known them for so long yet I don't know where or how. Tiptoeing to them as I smiled widely. "Hi! I'm Bennett!" raising my arms before bowing. Their faces were honest, they were shocked. "Alright, introduce yourselves later, get ready for now." I nodded as they brought me to the showers. It was still uncomfortable yet I can see that they'll be able to take care of me well. "Where are you from?" one of them asked. I looked at her and then rolled my eyes. "Don't talk informally with me" Sorry, I had to. Her eyes widened as she began apologizing. The one with Olive hair formed a fist, while her eyebrows arch. "You, what's your name?" I asked as I pointed at her. Making her jump on her place out of shock. You've been glaring at me. "Pam, your grace," she bowed. "Everyone, leave. I only want Pam to take care of me for now," I ordered, as all of them rushed out. "How can a mere commoner order me around?'' I heard someone mumble. I simply ignored it since it was not worth my time and I was too tired. About you drifting off to sleep when she suddenly spoke. "Are you a spy?"
