❁❁ Dr. Juhi Mohan's POV: ❁❁ I had gone to stand with the priestesses who had first looked at me with indignation and I couldn't blame them but the moment all four of the men started to shift into their wolf forms everyone was awestruck. The moment was so saturated with power and energy. I had seen Rajesh's wolf only. So, this was going to be just as magical for me as for everyone else. Their elements were swirling around them and for a moment I was worried about the reopening of the portal but the elements were not intermingling. Everyone held their breath, so immersed in the whole experience of seeing four of the Elemental Alpha Kings at the top of their power. At least, I think it was the peak of their power. Unless they had more secret abilities that I had no idea about, yet. Their clothes tore off as their limbs extended and the skeleton rearranged itself before our eyes. It was a mesmerizing process. In less than five minutes, there were four gigantic white wolves standing where the four men had stood. The only feature helping distinguish between them was their eyes. They all howled in unison and I heard people gasping as if under a spell. I managed to tear my eyes away from my four Alphas and looked around. The audience, which had a lot of formally dressed people, was not even blinking. Which was kind of creepy but I had made my peace with everything strange that came since meeting the Alphas. The priests were just as spellbound while the priestess looked turned on, which I was sure was not a part of their job but who could blame them? I could not choose between the four and had been greedy with them. I was the last person suitable to judge them. I looked at the head priest, who was an old man with a long white beard reaching below his navel. He was whispering something as he stared unblinking at the howling wolves before us while turning the beads of a very unique green rosary. The color reminded me of the color of the portal. I had no doubt in that shade of green. I knew I'd be having nightmares of that light. Lastly, I looked over to the four female versions of the Alphas and was surprised to find the women were not shocked but looked more angry. Their body language spoke volumes about someone upset about things not going their way. Whatever they were doing before we had come had been disrupted and I believe it was normal to feel upset about that. But the simple fact that they held so much resemblance to the four Alpha Kings, down to the eye traits, was curious for me. I could sense that they were some very important women and I felt the green goblin of jealousy twist my insides. A passage from the tattered mysterious book from the prison cave suddenly rang through my head. The Lunas of the Alphas, the queens of the kings, were supposed to have similar traits to their male counterparts. Could it be that each of these four women were significant others of my men? Were they even my men? I looked back at the howling wolves who were slowing down and had not spared a glance at the women yet. I had no idea how their traditions went. But I had started to feel very out of place. Suddenly the wolves stepped down from the stage and that broke the trance everyone was in. I was sure they were going to their women who had been waiting for them here while they were stuck there. But if they had women, why did they never talk about them? And why take me? All my questions and musing stopped when the four Alphas walked toward where I was standing with the priestesses and once they were close enough they growled so loud that the priestesses shrieked and stepped far away. I felt those growls resonate within me and strangely wanted more of it. I had heard them all growl before, in human form. This was more of a turn-on than a scary thing. The four wolves surrounded me, strutted in a circle around me to the shock of everyone and then the ones I knew were Kata and Vagus sat on their front paws on my each side. Just like those protective lions carved on the entrance of many famous architectures. Arin sat in the front, his fluffy tail wrapping around my feet in a protective cocoon. I felt Devgan glaring at everyone from behind me. There was a beautiful secure wall of Alpha Kings' wolves around me. I could not feel more protected. At that moment, one of the four women, the one I could guess was Devgan's counterpart stepped toward us, her anger could be felt from across the stage. She brought her hands forward as she yelled, "Enough with the drama!" and a ball of fire shot at us, making my eyes widen at the action and then instantly shut not knowing what else to do in this situation. But the fireball never made an impact. I opened my eyes to a familiar whirring sound. The Alpha wolves had used their powers together to protect me, knowing I was the only one who could be burnt to death. The rest of them could just heal back. Their powers, as expected, had created the portal and suddenly there were shrieks from the audience. When the portal closed we noticed that Jaya had made it through and was growling menacingly towards everyone else. Her eyes were bloodshot as she glared at everyone in the new surroundings. "What is this sorcery?" Someone yelled from the audience. "Witch! She is the witch!" One of the women called out hysterically and another added horrified, "On sacred grounds!" and then another called out, "The Alpha Kings are conspiring with the witches!" Turned out they were referring to me. Everyone sprang into action, ready to tear poor Jaya to shreds if necessary. "Guys, protect Jaya. I'll calm her down." I said to the wolves who were standing in a protective position around me. With that, I stepped in front of Jaya, taking her attention and hoping that she remembered me and forgave me for leaving her in the prison cave alone.
