Chapter 6: Meeting with a Stranger

928 Words
Just as Kael's wolf was about to pounce on his parents, he heard a faint ripping sound. His jeans were tearing, unable to contain the transformation that was taking place. His mother's screams pierced the air, a sound of terror that snapped Kael back to reality. He felt a surge of adrenaline, and his wolf's fury began to recede. With a Herculean effort, Kael regained control. He took a deep breath, his body shaking with the effort. His wolf receded, its presence fading into the background. His body stopped changing, his senses returned to normal, and his eyes transformed back to their human form. He stood there, panting, his heart racing with fear. He had come so close to losing control, to hurting the people he loved most. His parents approached him cautiously, their eyes wide with fear. "Kael, are you okay?" his mother asked, her voice trembling. Kael nodded, still trying to process what had just happened. "Yeah, I'm fine. I think." Kael's eyes flashed with anger again, but he took a deep breath and regained control. He looked at his parents, his expression cold. "I don't know if I can forgive you," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "You kept this secret from me for so long. You lied to me." His parents stepped forward, their eyes pleading. "Kael, please understand-" But Kael cut them off. "No. I need time to think. I need space." And with that, he turned and walked away, leaving his parents behind. He didn't know if he could ever forgive them, or if he could learn to control his wolf. All he knew was that he needed to get away, to figure out who he was and what he wanted. As he disappeared into the night, his parents watched him go, their hearts heavy with regret and worry. They knew they had made a mistake, and they didn't know if they could ever make it right. ------------------------ As Kael walks away from his parents' house, he felt a mix of emotions: anger, hurt, and confusion. He needs space, needs time to process everything that had happened. He wanders through the streets, his mind racing with thoughts and questions. He feels like a stranger in his own body, unsure of how to control his wolf or what it wants from him. As he turns a corner, he notices a figure watching him from the shadows. It's a woman with piercing green eyes and long, curly hair. She's dressed in a flowing white dress that seems to glow in the moonlight. "Kael, you're one of us," she says, her voice low and mysterious. "You don't have to face this alone." Kael is taken aback, unsure of what she means or who she is. And just when he takes a step forward to approach her, she vanished into thin air. Kael's eyes scanned the alleyway, but the mysterious woman was nowhere to be found. He spun around, hoping to catch a glimpse of her, but she had vanished without a trace. "Hey, wait!" he called out, his voice echoing off the walls. "Who are you? What do you want from me?" But there was no response. Kael was left standing alone in the alleyway. ----------------- Kael sighed and rubbed his temples, trying to shake off the encounter with the mysterious woman. He had more pressing concerns to worry about, like the full moon rising tomorrow night. His first transformation was looming up ahead. He made his way back to his small apartment, his mind racing with thoughts of the impending transformation. As he entered his bedroom, he caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror and shuddered. His eyes seemed to gleam with a faint yellow light, a sign that the wolf was stirring within him. Kael collapsed onto his bed, his mind and body exhausted from the emotional turmoil of the day. He tried to pushing his thoughts aside and focus on getting some rest. As he drifted off to sleep, he was haunted by dreams of wolves and forests, his subconscious mind preparing him for the changes that were to come. The next morning, Kael woke up feeling anxious and restless. He knew that today was the day. He packed a small bag with some clothes, water, food, and a first-aid kit, and set out for the unknown... Kael trudged through the forest, his senses heightened as he searched for a place to wait out the transformation. After a few hours of walking, he came to a clearing deep in the forest. He spotted an abandoned cabin in the distance, its wooden walls weathered and worn. He made his way towards it, hoping to find some semblance of shelter. As he entered the cabin, he was struck by the musty smell and the creaking of the old wooden floorboards. He collapsed onto a dusty bed, his body exhausted from the day's events. Despite his fatigue, Kael's mind raced with thoughts of what was coming. He tried to calm himself, but his anxiety only seemed to grow. With a deep breath, He removed his clothes, feeling the sun's warmth on his skin through the holes in the roof, and waited for the moon to rise. The forest was quiet, the only sound the beating of his heart. Kael didn't realise when he drifted off to sleep, all he knew was the sudden headache that pierced through his skull, making him sit up with a gasp. His heart raced as he felt a strange sensation coursing through his veins. It was starting.
